Got this at 2.5ghz ram at 417 5,5,5,15 and cant go higher because ram cant handle it am i missing a divider or is this the best im gonna be able to get without $200 ram??!

Amd board i just set the divider to 133 and went to town but intel seems diffrent or am i missing a settings?

You need to set the memory mulitplier at its lowest settings 1:1, not sure how it is listed in DFI bios, take the memory out of the picture with 5 5 5 15 timings and since it is GSkill give it some extra voltage. Check the manuf web site and find the voltage recommendations for your exact ram. 2.0V would be about right I think, at least to start.

Set your Vcore to 1.375V
set your cpu mulitplier to 8
turn off c1e eist etc. tm2 on is ok.

start at 300FSB (x8 = 2.4GHz) and start working up until the cpu craps out and then back off. (or increase Vcore up to 1.45V in small steps but watch your temps with coretemp - 70C max) ) Then you can look at what to do about the memory. CPU MHz is much much much more powerful than memory bandwidth but after you are sure of what you can do with the cpu, then you go back and play with memory mulitplier to run your memory at as close to stock or a little over at rated timings. Once that is stable you can look at relaxing (assuming the memory is rated at 4 4 4 12) the memory timings and using a higher memory multiplier to get as much memory speed as you can.

Put a fan on the MCH/Northbridge, it gets just as overclocked as the cpu and if it craps out due to heat, everything else goes with it.

I am stuck and cant go higher im not sure what is going on my ram is at 400mhz so its maxed out right... so how do people oc e2140's use ddr2/1066 ram?

Just kick in a memory mulitplier higher that the 2.0 one. (and rereading your first post I think you were kinda asking if you could run the ram slower, sorry, no, on intel boards the slowest you can run the ram is at 2x the FSB, there are no dividers only multipliers. )

For example with your FSB at 400MHz a memory mulitplier of 2.5 will run your memory at 1000MHz. Again, I am not sure how that is set in a DFI bios but it is in there somewhere.

Your ram should probally go to at least 425ish MHz before you need to loosen the timings to go higher. The 4 4 4 10 is a strange setting but I dont have a link or the exact model number of your ram so I cannot check it. Do not worry about tight ram timings, it does little good as far a performance on an intel board. If you can run 5 5 5 15 and get the FSB up to run the cpu faster the overall performance of the machine will be much greater.
