LOL. I would have to say few things have killed me more consistently at least in recent times than that. I am by golly going to probably spend a day and force myself to get that technique down. If you ca't beat 'em... join 'em.
So, I got suckered into another run but we decided on a boss melt strat instead of trying to actually do the final room fight. Almost didn't work.
Correct, no ads spawn and he just stands there until a certain point where he's taken enough damage. We just killed the turrets before running in and popping bubble/well.Another question about this. It looks like you all had killed off the cannons and just about everything else. He had a full bar of health so was that still when he was at his "starting point." He doesn't move until he takes x amount of damage?

I went in earlier with two randoms and we made it to him. I really wanted to try and do this but these guys didn't really get it. One of them talked about cheesing the boss by throwing the nades "at the platform underneath him." Does that mean anything to you?
This didn't end well.
For that specific run we wanted to sword melt so all the mods to support that were used. Lucent Blade, Passive Guard (OP as hell), Focusing Lens, a well and a bubble and all the possible ways to get charged with light. Everyone was also rocking Protective Light because it's almost essential in GM's to stay alive.
We all had Anti-Barrier Sniper and either hand cannons or pulses for unstoppable.
Did my first trial ever just for the bounty, took about 40 minutes but got a messenger finally. Ended up with a richocet rounds+outlaw+kill clip and stability master work for my first drop which is decent.
How does trials work, do you get another drop for getting to 3 wins? We only managed 2 wins and 3 losses before my bounty popped so hoping I can do some easy grinds for more.
It's a real random dice roll of attrition in Trials.
This. We faced numerous cheaters yesterday. Guys with brand new accounts, 2+ K/D and hundreds of kills on a single weapon, like "Long Shadow" or "Toil or Trouble". It was frustrating, but we were focused on the reward. Honestly, I just got lucky and had some fairly good randoms join me, who didn't mind having an old fart on their team, and liked the casual atmosphere. Having an LFG channel we could all join and be able to communicate helped a ton. Not only for coordination, but to be able to laugh off stuff and keep it light. One guy had Desperado on 4 different Messengers, but literally every other trait was junk. All he had left to do was laugh.
They're just really good. This is the type of player we seemed to face every round. It gets frustrating when you get one shotted by weapons that aren't shotties or snipers at a pretty nice distance at full health. I do question some of what I continue to see past just "these people are really good."
There is another insta-kill method that's being used for farming (though the auto rifle is terrible so we're not farming) and its real easy but takes a little setup and coordination.Felwinter, igneous, whatever heavy... some damned sniper rifle (always have to have one of these guys)... I know my team and I are dead in 10-20 seconds flat and that's arguably the prevailing offensive combo.
GM Nightfall...still can't crack this thing. Sometimes my team of randoms and I die in the room with the tanks and champs... sometimes we make it to Brachus. I'm still working over my loadout. A lot of people don't seem to know about that crazy Brachus kill routine that criccio posted.
They tend to want to go for the made cheese which is fine but it just never lasts that long. We get to Brachus with something like 2 revives and one little mistake and it's all over. Frustrating.
^^ Lots of good tips in that.
Aeon swift...have it.
I thought I was doing good with Stasis but I'm missing some of those options and mods. Will look into it.
I have an "ok" kinetic sniper and it's the only one I have. Eye of Sol is from Trials... a longshot I ever see it at best. I'm woefully deficient in kinetic snipers at present.
Pali I'm good on. I like that finisher mod and I have considered it.
I don't have Anarchy thanks to no raids basically. I wish I did. Same goes for Divinity.
I was discussing this briefly with Frakksured: I have glimmer boosts on my ghost. It goes quickly when constantly swapping mods so I'm starting to think about getting multiple sets of armor off the ground. Thoughts?
I watched that one guy try to manually climb the elevator shaft and I wonder if he has a potential idea there if we can get to the top early. Get in position.
These guys looked strong and well-coordinated that's for sure.
Esoterik has a video on soloing this with Hunter. Not suggesting you Solo, but I know you play Hunter. It has some good ideas for areas to semi- safely shoot from, survivability tactics, etc. Don't pay too much attention to his loadout. He does GM with a Blue rarity weapon just to show off.
If I don't have Anarchy what's the poor man's substitute (or substitutes?)
No substitute unfortunately. Xeno or Code Duello are the good fall backs this Season.
Can Anarchy be had through the Kiosk? It would require 240 Raid tokens (whatever they are called), but you can get those free from Chests. Look up "free solo raid chests" and you'll find 8 total iirc, that you can do on each class, to rack them up fairly fast. Might take 2 or 3 weeks to get enough, but worth it. I'd love to help honestly, but I'm on nearly solid 12"s throughout April.

I know how to get 2 chest in last wish and one in garden of salvation, I just spent about an hour trying to get the 1st one in DSC. I tried the out of the map method and just going dome to dome but was not successful on either one.
Thanks man. I'm going to be looking into that free chest thing immediately. I have Xeno and Duello.
This thread reminds of me of the wow thread. I'll take a year long break, come in here, and I have no idea what anyone is talking about. Its almost as if everyone is speaking a completely different language lol.
I blew it on GM. I got greedy on that "jump up the elevator to trigger Brachus" and even though I had jumped down carefully the game didn't think so. I died. That ruined the setup for the supers and the nukes. It was all over. That won't happen again. The loadout tips with the Aeon, the warlocks on arc focus lense and me doing that stasis setup absolutely was great. That was the best run tonight I've ever seen. We had 12 revives going into Brachus. Until I blew it all with that dumb and frankly unfair mistake. I wasn't that high.
We were so close, we'll get it next time. My only suggestion is be patient. You play PVE like I play PVP, I get in too much of a hurry. For the Brachus fight once someone has jumped up the chain before activating the elevator (then come back down) you dont need to jump up the chain once the elevator is in motion. Stay behind crates at back of elevator, pop out and shoot Brachus with sniper/rocket whatever (rinse and repeat). Once elevator reaches top jump out of cover pop super, then warlocks pop chaos reachI blew it on GM. The problem with insta-kill strats on that boss is if you don't kill him before he jumps up to a tower but still put in a lot of damage, a lot of enemies will spawn making your job 10x harder. Its an all or nothing kinda thing. Pre-damage, then then the stasis super and the warlocks with that chaos reach and focusing lens all have to happen without a hitch.
The waves of ads are triggered by certain damage thresholds and if you bring him down to like 25%HP but he escapes, you've all burned your supers and have nowhere to really hide.
It was and that worked with swords/bubble/well, however with the stasis/chaos reach strat, without pre damaging him using the elevator cheese, it won't be enough damage to fully kill him once the warlocks pop their super.I really liked that scenario I saw in one of the videos. I think it was yours. You destroyed the cannons, cleared the area, and didn't even touch him. You dodged his fire, set up, and then nuked him.
