Destiny 2

Finally yesterday I broke down and whipped out my smartphone, fired up the Destiny 2 app, and assembled my own fireteams twice to finish off all requirements and snagged Izanami's Burden. I'm assuming the last step, unmarked, is this "lab quest." I have all the weapons you need to open it presumably. I know better than to attempt it solo when the time comes. Any other tips?

this "lab quest."
It's optional and most of the playerbase skipped it. The original idea behind that quest was that it was designed for streamers/clans who compete for the world first challenges, and Bungie would unlock the last forge (Bergusia) for everyone once the streamers completed it.

Unfortunately the quest was a horrendously over-convoluted ambiguous mess with no checkpoints, no group could complete it over the weekend so eventually Bungie said 'sorry' and unlocked the Bergusia forge for everyone. There's an article on the whole debacle here. (as well as the solutions to the puzzle)

Oh... THAT thing. Very glad to not be bothered with it.

Its not that hard if you just follow a guide and have a couple buddies with you, once you do the part in niobe labs you have to ignite all of the forges wearing full forge armor and 3 forge weapons equipped (doesnt have to be max temper) The reward is an emblem and I think that was it.

I FINALLY sucked it up and got past the hell part of the last word quest. Even managed to get a little progress on the ace of spades with precision shots in the process. So glad to put that behind me.

I'll have to look into it further.

I know how you feel! For me Ace was SO worth it. I like Last Word, too, but Ace is still one of my very favorite weapons in the entire game.

Two things being talked about here and maybe confused.

There is the full 7 Level Niobe Labs puzzle which Drexion is talking about which yeah, its a pain in the ass and all you get in a Ghost shell and Emblem. No real reason to run it beyond that.

Additionally there is the Mysterious Datapad quest that requires the Iznagi's Burden that has a similar but significantly scaled down "puzzle" that is much easier. You get a really cool cutscene and emblem.

Got the last word and ace of spades last night, had to do the gunfight part of the last word twice. The first time I went through it I stood on the plate, killed the last three and nothing happened.

Picked up

from a prime engram last night. I haven't played with it yet because I jumped off after I unlocked it. From what I read its a great bow for clearing adds.
I'm now slowing progressing above 500 light, right now I'm at 523. I think I'm going to have to start the quest line for the warmind exo linear fusion rifle (can't remember the name of it) or maybe ace of spades.

Nice find. Got that last week, and it was fun to plink at adds with for Crimson Day bounties.

I've shied away from the Ace of Spades quest because I don't have a clue about Gambit and haven't had the moderate inclination to watch youtube videos on how the mechanics work. One day.. one day.

Bashed my head against the wall on Shattered Throne soloing.. seems my warlock's gear is not up to task or I just blow. That's another one that.. ah.. coming in blind so to speak.. is difficult to figure out. Greased about six or seven times before going out to shovel snow.

I haven't started any gambit sessions myself but I guess playing them to get the weapon would be good. My problem is a suck at PVP.

Gambit is barely PVP, the majority of the match is killing monsters and picking up the motes they drop to deposit in a bank. There is an occasional invasion where one member of the opposing team spawns into your area to hunt you down. I'm awful at pvpbut like gambit a lot. For the crucible (the real pvp mode) I enjoy iron banner and mayhem.

Trinity Ghoul was really fun for a bit, especially with lots of grouped up ads. Sadly though, it spends a lot of time in the vault these days. Its a terrible PvP bow and I only use a bow in PvE for bounties that require it or Shattered Throne, but for that, I need a void bow.

Man, I could grind Gambit all day. Its by far the most fun activity, IMO, they've added into Destiny. Trouble is, it really puts to test your knowledge of the mechanics, weapon/super meta's and how/when to combo them IF you want to be effective. Knowing the importance of the first invade and to always invade when the other team is holding motes is key.

Triple Infamy starts on Tuesday's reset so I'll be grinding for my last reset and snag that Dregen title.

Top tree Void warlock w/ Skull of Dire Ahamkara is nuts. Nova bomb a group of adds, get you super back and do it again. Hit the Primeval with Tractor cannon and a Nova bomb for an instant burn.

Invading though, that's SO fun. The meta right now is Thunderlord or Queenbreaker so if you have those, you can get some kills.

SUPER pumped for the mixup to the base game and the new Gambit activity slated for Season of the Drifter.

I would the weapons are great if you're a collector but none are really outstanding that I would use them over other things. Bad Omens rocket launcher, if you like rocket launchers (meh) is probably the best you can get and I have a well rolled Distant Relation that's been serving me well since the Scout rework a few weeks ago.

Ha, solo ST isn't something to take lightly. Its true endgame content and not easy, especially going into it blind. Many people spend hours and hundreds of deaths in there trying for their solo and that's after watching full guide videos. Vorgeth, the first real boss is a massive pain in the ass solo. With a three man fireteam, its actually kinda trivial at this point but solo its still a huge pain in the ass.

Most popular and safest loadout for getting him in 2 phases is Warlock Well of Radiance, Kinetic Pulse, Subtle Calamity (Void) bow for popping the witches shields and Whisper w/ Catalyst or Thunderlord once you get to damage phase.

Some new strats for one-phasing him exist like dropping a WoR at his feet, meleeing him for the Empowered buff then going to town with Legend of Acrius.

Dul Incaru, imo, is actually scarier as there is literally nowhere to hide. To be honest, both bosses make you feel that way. In the three man groups i've been running, one Golden Gun shot w/ Celestial Nighthawk is enough to one-shot her once you collect all three buffs. Its just getting to that damage phase, like with Vorgeth, that's a pain in the ass.

About Gambit ... kill the envoys before attacking the primevil. It is beyond infuriating how so many don’t have understand this.

Oh damn.. This Gambit thing sounds do-able.. when I pop in I expect the only achievement will be disappointing three other team mates for half an hour at a time. I can't wait. haha!

I can't remember if there were tooltips that popped up on everyone's first gambit match that explained that mechanic. Regardless, the usual Bungie way of barely explaining things. I thought of Gambit directly when I played Apex for the first time and was forced to go through that training mission in the beginning.

I love the voicelines the Drifter gives you constantly telling you what to do and people still ignore it. Here I am at the bank emoting waiting for the random to bank his 3 motes so we can spawn the damn Primeval. Hell i've went and collected more on my own just so I didn't have to wait.

Been a productive weekend, just finished malfeasance. Guess I really should work on whisper.

This is very annoying and always happens. The team just needs 1 or 2 motes for the primeval and one guy, who has the required amount, decides to continue to kill adds and collect motes for some unknown reason. It is particularly bad when the opposing team has already summoned their primeval and your team is playing catch up.

Question, On March 4th when they move to the next season is the black armory no longer accessible?

I would imagine yes.. I haven't heard of a game removing content folk paid for.
I wasn't sure because the way i read the comments it sounded like you wouldn't be able to use it after this season. I dunno. I need to purchase the season pass :-( i still haven't.

This trimple infamy is amazing. We're 4-stacking this week and we rode a 5x win streak for a while. Got through my last of Legend then pushed 4000 points into the 3rd reset.

IIf you're going for Dregen, make sure you save any bounties until you reach Legend on your second reset since they will also count for 3x Infamy. If you have 1000 points in bounties, turning them in will get you the 3000 you need to complete Legend without even playing.

RNG finally acknowledged me!

I have been doing really well in gambit invading with Jotunn and using it to clear blockers. Ammo isnt near as rare as heavy ammo is in Gambit so i can save my heavy to melt primevals, then if/when ammo runs out keep wrecking it with jotunn. Jotunn also makes pretty quick work of the envoys.

I gotta find a better weapon for the bosses in gambit. Can't do shit.

Honestly, I think I rarely use weapons at all on the Primeval. Gambit relies heavily on supers, damage buffs and the synergy between them.

Our strat is a top tree novabomb warlock w/ Skull of Dire Ahamkara, two Orpheus Rigs hunters and a Geomag Warlock.

Primeval appears and one Hunter gets a good tether that hopefully grabs both Envoys. One Novabomb and both are dead. That warlock and hunter should both have their supers back instantly if they got good hits. If they didn't, the orbs generated by each other should refill the rest. At this point, you're playing it slow and waiting for the invader.

Take him out then another tether and Novabomb to take a nice chunk out of the Primeval.

By now you have 2-3x Primeval Slayer buff so the Geomag warlock should be able to Kamehameha the rest of the health down while whoever's left throws what they have at him.

Dead without shooting him once. The hunters Novabomb warlocks can make good use of their supers during the mote collecting phase as well since if they're good, they'll get it back instantly.

Or 3x Geomag warlocks and a melting point Titan can burn him down the second he appears.

There is a lot of nuance to a good gambit team comp and it really boils down to what works well together class/super wise.

Tether wrecks shop on collecting motes, if i get a good tether to start off with I have almost unlimited tethers he whole round. (with orpheus rig)

Absolutely. Almost required to have at least one Rigs Hunter on your team.

Anyone do the quest line for Sleeper Simulant? trying to figure out a more efficient way of farming stems and unlocking nodes. The grind is real with this quest for me so far....

Been sitting at 39/40 Sleeper Nodes for.. forever. The crap RNG on dupes is real.

Gotta get in a rhythm with the Lost Sector, patrols and Heroic Public Events down in the Glacial Drift. Whenever the Public Event is up, make sure you grab a patrol that you can complete while doing the event. Event ends, go run the lost sector while maybe mixing it up by doing some patrols but make sure they're only ever Kill or Collection patrols. You'll have to just get familiar with the icons for the different types.

Once all the patrols are done, go to orbit then go back to respawn them and rinse and repeat.

  • 1 Resonate Stem per Public Event
  • 2 Resonate Stems per Heroic Public Event
  • 1 Resonate Stem per Lost Sector looted
  • 1 Resonate Stem per “VIP” roaming boss enemy killed
  • 1 Resonate Stem per Patrol completed

So i'm not the only one who struggles getting stems to drop......
I still don't know how to trigger a heroic public event.

For the southern area of Mars, there is a Defend the Warsat and a Witches Ritual.
