AFK farming method for some planetary mats, shards, glimmer. No AFK macro needed and you won’t ruin other players encounters.

Good Lord, that tedium needs all the shortcutting and help it can get. I haven't even gotten to it yet.

What in the hell were they thinking on that?

I've never had even remotely close to that many of those items before except arguably Baryon Boughs.

Hats off to this guy for this idea. He's got some good videos.

I will say this: That's pretty absurd that I would have to leave my machine on for 12 hours (presumably overnight) and leave it running on that damned game for that whole time in that loop just to get that tedium done.

It just doesn't seem reasonable. Either do that or untold amounts of insane tedium.

I really hope Bungie reconsiders and retools some of that. A little bit of refinement? Something? Meet the player halfway on that absurd grind for that?

I want to know: How are people supposed to get that criteria done in a relatively reasonable fashion?

I only had 20-30 of each planetary material when this event started and I thought it would take forever as well.

I mostly did the triumphs wearing calus gear and raid / minaj weapons to get tributes. I only had to grind and purchase maybe 4-5 tributes to get to 18 and get bad juju.

Last night I put on a 40m chest finder ghost, a long range weapon and ran around titan to get chests as they contain alkane dust. I tagged any public events and such along the way. The daily bounties, on each planet, net you +10 planetary mat each. In a few hours I ground out 2-3 tributes.

Now the catalyst, on the other hand, I plan to use the method above for.

Edit: Regional chest are what i'm farming for glimmer. +1250 each.

    Really stupid question:

I see a lot of videos where people hit the Menagerie for say, an Austringer farm run, and when they are done they get two Austringers to drop at the same time. How?

You used to be able to farm the chest multiple times but they just patched it out. How it worked before was you open the chest then run to a different zone and run back and the chest would respawn. You could do this as many times as possible until the timer ran out.

There's a perk on the chalice that gives you a chance to get an extra drop from the chest. It doesn't necessarily have to be the same item as what you've slotted runes for, though (I don't think anyway).

You still get two drops sometimes due to the chalice perk.

Stayed up till midnight last night and got my bad juju, haven't played with it yet but I'm excited. It was my go-to gun in D1, I love pulse rifles in general but bad juju was always my favorite. Now next on my list is lumina lol

It's not that bad, unless your aiming for the no death triumph lol. It's got no darkness zones so you can die as much as you'd like and you won't fail.

To be clear, there isn't a tribute associated with the Solo Flawless triumph but it is 200 points.

    80k i'm coming for you!

I did get the solo-flawless done on the bad juju mission. Not on the first try though. Round one I made it to the boss fight and got surprise insta-death-boss-stomped from around a corner. That's fun.

Those dumb shriekers in that dog room though, ugh, "Jumps on ledge, What!? Where is that coming from!?"

Finally got this little baby. I gave up on doing comp myself and found a streamer that does carries all day for free. Definitely worth it. If anyone is interested, his Twitch is Eevo. He's a chill dude, too.

I have mixed luck with Comp. I basically lost all my glory points today in three matches. Not that I was that high. I've barely touched it this season.

    Nice, congrats!

I have no desire to grind for that, so I feel like by the time i'd get it after I've slow-rolled it the gun will get the nerf hammer.

This is part of the reason I quit playing Destiny. I really like the game but I just don't have the time to grind away for all of this stuff like some people. Usually by the time I would get around to unlocking some things the meta would have changed and what I unlocked wasn't as usefully anymore. Its great that they are continually adding new content but it makes it difficult for causal players to keep up.

Honesty it's not terrible if you do what I did and get carried. You probably already have the crucible wins. If not, play a lot of IB next week since they count for extra progress.

Been seeing glitches in Gambit and especially Gambit Prime. I also feel like practically every match I'll have an AFK person on the team. Very annoying.

Question to the void - for those who snagged a Bungie medallion seal - what was the wait time between ordering and shipping? Five weeks? three months?

Never mind. Just found out the bungie split moved all the medallion seals to 'print on demand' (as the initial inventory has been used up), and I am on a 2-3 month wait for this to occur.

Quick question... I don't get to play often but I do like playing on occasion. Right now I'm one expansion behind and have a lot to catch up on in regards to updates. It seems Activision has implemented some kind of subscription model on top of having to buy the most recent expansion. I feel like Activision is making a last ditch effort to monetize the game before they lose it for good. My question is, is it worth dropping the cash on the new expansion and subscription to get caught up or should I wait until after it moves to Steam in order to see how Bungie handles things? Even if costs stay the same I'd rather Bungie and Valve get my money over Activision but I also don't want to lose out on content. I play mostly solo so I still won't be able to do everything but I'd like to get the most out of what I can do.

When you say you're one expansion behind, what do you mean? Did you play Forsaken? What about the Annual Pass?

Also i'm not aware of a subscription model, Battle.net has the Forsaken Complete Collection for $40. The next big expansion, Shadowkeep, is $35.

If you already own the base game, not much will change come September beyond the base game and Y1 expansions becoming F2P:

I don't have Forsaken yet. I must have confused the "annual pass" for a subscription type thing. My bad. Will I get Shadow Keep with my purchase of Forsaken with the Annual Pass or am I going to have to shell out another $75 for everything?

What's more is its an a la carte season pass this time around instead of the full 9 month annual pass with Forsaken.

Some people were upset having to pay for things like Season of the Drifter.

I don't think I play enough to drop another $75 on a game I've already spent $100+ on. I'll just wait until everything moves and keep my fingers crossed for a sale.

I'm Trying to grind for a good roll on Swarm of the Raven in sweaty Iron Banner. Additionally, I need 2 more tributes for the bad juju catalyst.

The invisible bug in Iron Banner, Maybe? Crucible is general, is annoying.

I won't bother with Competitive ever again. I'll never be able to hang with the junkies. So anything tied to that I can forget about it.

For some reason I'm actually.. almost good in Iron Banner. It's far and away the one Crucible mode I can actually be a positive factor for the team and there was one match I actually won it for us with a lucky spectral blades hit at the end for a two point lead. I'll be damned if I can get a full set of that armor to drop. I've had lot of the boots and the greaves but that's about it.

Comp solo is rough and unless you're a god, not fun. There are plenty of strats but at the end of the day, its better with a full communicating team.

The thing about comp is that you have to play during hours where more casual people will be on and doing it. If you try during the work week, in the middle of the day, or late at night, you will find only pain. Those are the times you'll only find the sweaty PvP try hards.

I really do like Iron Banana. Been playing that a lot this week. Still looking for a Swarm with spikes. Got one so far with the perfect roll outside of no spikes. Fingers crossed I get a little bit of time this weekend to give it a shot.

Finally got my lumina today. Haven't had time to play with it but the collector in me is glad to finally have the stupid thing, from what I seen it synergizes really well with mid tree solar warlocks which is pretty cool.
