Desktop Tower for work?

Have you tested the IBM program and see if it would run in 64bit or in XP mode? If it works, should be no problem getting that desktop.

Right you may need to test your company specific apps to make sure they're compatible with 64bit windows7. If not you may need to try creating a VM to run 32bit XP in for those applications. Otherwise the PC looks good enough. Are they concerned about warranty? You could probably build them something as well for near that price. Perhaps even save some cash if you have an old PC you can get the DVD drive and such from.
 
The program will work with 64bit. Not sure there worried so much about warranty or new but they like to have a serial number on the tower. I don't think they would like the idea of us building one.

If we tried to reuse any of the old dvd burners etc. we would need a board with lots of legacy ports. The old system is an ancient t3642 emachine.
