Well ordered two X800 Pros a couple of weeks ago. Got them on sale for about $600 shipped total. Ship date was 8/25. Today I get the following e-mail:

We have reviewed your order. Although we had anticipated being able to ship your order sooner,
we are experiencing an unexpected delay with your order and will not be able to ship this order and any associated orders until on or before 11-17-2004.

No action is required to proceed with the new date, however, if you do not wish to wait, you may cancel your order.
If you wish to cancel your order or if you have any questions, please go to www.support.dell.com or contact us at 1-800-624-9897, extension (66966).

Please include your order number or customer number with any correspondence.
We apologize for any inconvenience this delay may cause.

Thank you,
Dell Inc. Notification Team

November?!? I thought the X800 XT PE cards were shipping in October.

I order a lot of Dell stuff for work - when I order a new batch of Laptops or a server, I'll get a "ship date' of about three weeks out - and I have what ever it is I ordered in about a week. Dell sets the "estimated ship date" out farther than it should be as a CYA - you may see your cards before then, then again you ordered cards that aren't 'really' available yet - waiting still sux

Peace,
Tim

Wow... There was a similar thread i read yesterday but it was on newegg. How about maybe you cancel your order, get your money back, and pay a couple hundred bucks for them somewhere else if you HAVE to have them now? CompUSA probably has them in your area, same with best buy.

It's not their fault ATI can't manage themselves and keep up with demand. It's not fair to bash them for something they can't control.

I agree, ATi has really hurt themselves this round of the video card war...and resellers are bearing most of the blame for it.

If you ordered after 8:30pm CST on Thursday (Aug 12), good luck ever receiving it. It had hit large deals boards by that time. I ordered almost immediately after the the thread was posted here and I got a call Monday saying my order had been delayed until 9/3.

Someone in the other thread said that Dell showed 289 in stock, but there has to be many more ordered than that. In case you haven't noticed, ATI is having a hard time getting the cards out. But I guess that's Dell's fault.

I got in around noon on that one. My new delivery shows 07 Sep.... We'll see what happens.

I tried to contain myself, but I just can't do it! :D

Absolutely :D

I think turnkey systems/companies are as lame as the next pc guy, but bashing a company for something that they have no control over is pretty lame. Venting that you can't get your card till november? Cool. Maybe the subject should be something like.....

"More waiting on ATI cards" or "ATI needs to pull their head out" or "WTF? 3 more months for my x800?!"

Totally not fair to dell. It's like hating on some dude cause his wife is a B****. It's not his fault, he might still be a cool guy.

ATI is at fault. Bash ATI, not the companies that try to sell their cards. They are trying as hard as you to get those things in stock, and get them to their customers. They don't have a giant surplus of cards in a warehouse and holding on to them just to piss people off. That's my point.

Well said

only I had ordered the Pro for $333, email notice I get this morning says on or before 11/17/04 :p .....like the pros are hard to come by

Dell did the same thing when the 8500's first came out. They had a 20% off deal going & the 8500 was listed at $203. I ordered on Oct 2nd & finally received the card the first week in Nov.......which was actually ok since ATi had time to fix the original driver issues ;)

Complain to dell...they will usually give you sweet coupons then. Just be nice.

fucking shit! November!
This gives me another reason never ever shop at dell. They must get off by messing with you.

Yeah I know it's not Dell's fault, I was just pissed. And I don't appreciate that graphic either.

Better lock this before someone earns a vacation.
