Dell PS4100 series

Does anyone here use these SANs?

If so can they do async replication?

We have a new site coming online soon and I was looking to get a PS4100 for head office to store databases and user files etc and also have a PS4100 in the second site to do the same I would then like to have full replication at all times between eachother so we then have a DR site in the event of a fire. in theory we are DR for eachother along with the tape backups from each site.

oh We have 100Mbps leased lines at each site.

Usual estimates would put that at around 100 IOPS in real life usage.

So the figures you have are not bad. (2x data drives in a 4 disk R10 x 50 IOPS per spinning rust)

We've got 12 x 900GB 10k 2.5" SAS drives- this our main production SAN.

We're going with a symmetric RAID50 array, with 2 hot spares.

I'll post our IOPS and some benchmarks once we are up and running.
