Decent, affordable SSD?

I believe that particular SSD received excellent reviews on AnandTech when it was first introduced; however, I can't speak to the model you linked specifically. Depending on your budget, for a little more money you can double the storage and still get a "decent" drive - Crucial C300 64GB. I'm using that model currently and wish I had opted for something bigger. 30GB might be a tight fit depending on your needs/utilization.

Depends on what it's for? I put that Kingston drive in my Zacate build. It works just fine, but it's not the fastest. The Patriot 60GB Inferno that I put in my HTPC blows it away. But for the price, $55, the Kingston was a good deal.

Both of the 96GB V+100 are going for a good price right now:

I bought the second one when Kingston was offering a great rebate on it. (And the rebate experience was fantastic.) But still, even without the rebate, at $160 or $150 for 96gb is a good price per gb. Definitely much better than the one you linked, both in terms of price/gb and for the performance. And I'm not sure how you'll live with just 30gb -- that seems way too small for me. Btw, the second one I linked just comes with some accessories, including software to clone HDDs by Acronis.

Also, the V+100 series is better than the V series that you linked. See here, for instance:

P.S.
I believe that particular SSD received excellent reviews on AnandTech when it was first introduced;
I can't even find a review by Anandtech of the V series .... but I didn't look thoroughly.

Also, I got an email from NE offering 10% off all SSDs for 72 hrs with the following code:

BTEKEHG28

Hope that helps.

I would recommend a Microcenter rebranded Adata, they are nice, not too expensive and are 64gb (for ~$100) I updated mine with Corsair Force firmware and it worked just fine, its a nice little drive.

That's weird... there is also this one:

Description looks identical to the other one that I linked in my post above but this link comes with a $50 rebate? Whereas my link doesn't show the rebate? The rebate price is [H]OT!! It's in the hot deals section of the forum right now, that's how I saw it. I don't get wtf is the deal with newegg's website.

The Corsair Force is another very solid SSD. (One of the first to use the newer Sandforce controller). If you've got a SATA III connection, then the Vertex 3's seem to be the cream of the crop currently, but they don't come cheap!

My experience getting the rebate from Kingston was probably the best rebate experience, though.

Kingston seems pretty good about there rebates my friends done 3 different ones through them and they all came within a month of him mailing them.
