In no particular order
controller? - both console ports more or less.
25 hours? - felt like 25 hours. As I recall there's a couple bosses fight that repeat somewhat annoyingly. I do play slow because I don't game to game exactly it's relaxation thing for me I'll never be that guy taht boasted that he beat a game in x hours on hardcore, but actually yes. I had trouble with boss fights in Dead space because the button scheme on the controller was problematic for some reason I recall the buttons weren't assignable(could be wrong) and I simply do not play 3rd person on a keyboard if I can help it. It seems like 3 times longer than any RE game. I would actually recommend it to people that feel like their moneys worth is calculated in hours.
Mass Effect blegh? - So a while back I played about 30 minutes of it, but the by end of the first mission or so none the conversational choices felt like some I would say and felt empty. I had this giant Santa claus bag full of items I had discernible use for that someone told me Im supposed micromanage melting down and crafting or some crap. It wasn't so much I poo-poo the game but that I found something far more enjoyable to play and just moved on. Pretty sure it was STALKER.
So anyway I do wanna go back and give ME another shot but my 360 controller doesn't seem to work and with all the consolish menus I really don't feel like using a keyboard. As soon as I get that sorted out I try again and hopefully not find something else I'd rather be playing.
Actually the menus in Mass Effect 1 on the PC are PC specific. They are quite different from the console version and are best experienced with a mouse. Not that they are good mind you. The inventory system sucks. But at least you can learn to do things quickly with a mouse.
