God this thing annoys the piss out of me on the PC. Feels like a bad console port. Horrible controls, total BS save system. Screwy timer for missions. TAB to get map, but then not TAB to get back out? Zombies still attack while you check missions/time? Crazy accurate aim by enemies along with massive hit points? Cartooney/bad graphics, even in cut scenes (which seem to happen about every 5-secs). Ridiculous. GIVE me L4D2 anyday over this.
And lol @ even mentioning L4D in the same sentence as DR.
The Eurogamer performance comparison or PC is now available: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-dead-rising-2-tech-comparison-article
However, what the PC version gains in graphical boosts, it loses in additional content. In this respect it's identical to the PS3 game in that there's no sign of any DLC: the Case Zero prologue remains an Xbox 360 exclusive, and the forthcoming Case West add-on - which sees Frank West (and his camera) returning to Dead Rising - will also appear only on the Microsoft platform, in the short term at least.

..except for lack of support for my X360 controller. I did find a hack (DLL and conf file) that makes it work though, without having to resort to Xpadder or similar rebinding - it now has native support and all the buttons are as they should be.
Link? I'm having the same problem, it doesn't recognize my Saitek Cyborg which is basically a 360 controller, works with every other GfWL game and even with the 360.
I think I would actually bother to finish the game if the controller worked.
There's a bug in the game that can be fixed (Serious Sam folks fixed their XAudio2 problem similar to this); the game won't run at 96kHz sampling rate.My Steam version of the game crashes if I try and use my X-Fi Titanium Pro. It seems to work fine with onboard and usb sound cards. I have the latest drivers, anyone else experience a similar problem?
I had zero issues with my wired 360 controller and the pc version of DR2.
+1
My 360 pad worked fine (as it has for all games I'd think to use a controller in for the last few years). Unfortunately the controls themselves in DR2 are kinda crap, but I guess that's Capcom for you.
I finally broke down and picked up DR2 when it went half-off on steam (still a bit over-priced, but oh well).
I'm loving the game so far! So much fun to run around and kill zombies with every object imaginable! The controls are a little stiff, and the save system is the most frustrating thing I've seen in a game in quite some time, but the pros of this game out-way the cons by a long shot imo. I can easily see myself putting over a hundred hours into this game, just having fun w/ the awesome zombie grinding, and trying multiple play-throughs to try and get all the objectives completed.
You're loving the game but still feel half off is overpriced?
