Dead Pixel Policy

I've decided to get the Asus VH236H since its cheap and fits my needs.

I was going to order from Amazon since their exchange process seems hassle free if I happen to get a dead pixel but then I saw that NewEgg has a sale on it where I can get it cheaper by a few dollars.

If there was even one dead pixel on my monitor, could I have them replace it at no extra charge? Do they have a minimum dead pixel policy or something? I tried searching for relevant answers and the results showed that NewEgg won't do replacements unless you have a minimum of 8 dead pixels but that was an old thread. I was wondering if they changed that policy recently.

I tried contacting their support and asking specifically how many dead pixels must I have before I can exchange the product without any other fees but they didn't really answer my question. All they gave me was that they will file a damage claim with the shipping company if the item is damaged during transit and will return/exchange the product if it is defective without stating how many dead pixels must there be. And the sale ends tomorrow.

I would rather deal with Amazon for not charging tax and easy exchanges but this time around, NewEgg has it for cheaper and their products gets shipped to my house faster.

The newegg person doesn't know what he/she is talking about - file a claim for shipping damage for dead pixels? Come on...in this case if Amazon has a good refund policy its safer to get it from them.

The only reason why I'm even considering buying a monitor at NewEgg is because its cheaper by a few dollars and I'll get my item possibly a few days earlier. Buying other computer components is no problem for me at the Egg but not sure if I should deal with them when looking to purchase a monitor.

That's why I'm wondering if anyone recently had an experience with them when dealing with dead pixels. Otherwise, I'll just go with Amazon.
