Hey guys,
I have been running a DDC with a bitspower res top for the past several months now and the problem that I am having is that the pump is indirectly noisy. What I mean is that the pump vibrations are generating a good bit of noise, its easily the loudest thing in my case, including My 285gtx with the fan turned up to 70%. If I release the mounting screws on the pump and hold it away from the case with my hands its dead silent. I have seen a couple of different isolator and mounting kits for these and was wondering if anyone else had any experience with this sort of issue and had any reconmondations on which ones to use or if a pump relocation is in order?

I make my own isolation so no experience with the kits. I have a further suggestion. If you keep the pump mounted on the bottom of the case (and I see no great reason not to unless you wanted to externally mount it down there with the rad) see what you can do to stiffen that case bottom. It appears you have removed the case feet and are working towards making your radiator box blend in with the case. If there is a void between the bottom of the case bottom and the radiator box, fill it with something, carpet scrap, piece of plywood, whatever to help stop the tendency of the case bottom to vibrate and or act as a sounding board for the pump. Should not even be visible if you trim it up nicely. If the case bottom is sitting solidly on that rad box - nevermind. (well when the pump is running and mounted place you hand of the case bottom and see if the sound changes. ) Anyway you get the idea. Just a thought.
 
Interesting thought. Right now the case feet are still on as I'm deciding weather or not to follow through with this setup or simply buy a bigger case that will fit a second 3x120 as I want to get the gpu into the loop as well. I think for the time being I will find a bit of carpet or something thick like that to put inbetween and see if it doesnt help some. Thanks for the idea :)
 
Neoprene or packaging foam work well for isolating noise. If you have your pump mounted to something, you can try some rubber washers/O-rings on between the bolts and the case to dampen the vibrations (bolt --> o-ring --> case --> o-ring --> nut --> pump --> another nut). My pump is actually screwed onto a piece of foam with bolts and washers and then the foam is stuck to the bottom of the case with double-sided tape. It really works quite well. Hope you get your problem solved.
 
My pump is mounted inverted with rubber washers. Its practically inaudible. My 1000rpm fans are louder.

I would just use some kind of rubber or neoprene to isolate the pump from the case. That should solve any noise issues.
 
My screws are on rubber isolators and there is the stiff foam pad provided by swiftech between the pump and the case. Personaly I think the foam is too stiff which is what is causing my issue. I was initialy thinking something like this .. .http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/shsacokitor.html . I'll be trying a couple of things here in the near future and let you all know how it works out.
