DC Vault

yeah baby.. moved into second place on POEM.. :p
Heh, I was just happy to finally get a BOINC project that's not WCG over 10K points! Gotta get that Q6600 up and running soon... I just want to get all of my BOINC projects up to 10K and I'll be happy - right now it's just WCG & Poem, with Primegrid and Simap both several hundred off... Then it'll be 4 down, 16 or so to go... :D

Looks like the pirates are making a big push in EON. They'll overtake us in 8 days.

Yeah I was watching them from a couple days back. What we going to do about SazanEyes?
Let them pass and not fight them for the spot or push like our systems like crazy and ignore other projects for a couple weeks?
It's your call, I'll push with you if you want to but I could be making a lot more points for the vault working on other things.

im still running eon.. but only on 1 core.. doing about 1000-1100 projects a day..

Last time I checked a few days ago they we coming up behind us at about 20k/day.
We have such a long way to go to get to the next team and it will yield very few vault points for that much effort I decided to go pick at some lower hanging fruit from other trees for awhile.

The points we will loose by letting them pass can easily be made up in a short time from other projects with little effort.

There is a rumor out there that EON may reset there user and team points if and when they change it over to a Boinc project which has been in the works for a long time now, I would think they should be getting close to doing it.

The thing we are fighting with that project is that we are late to the game.
Back when the project was new, the work units were still worth 1 point each but they were about 75% smaller and faster to run, so teams that crunched it a long time ago gained a lot of points fast.
Now that the work units are much larger but still worth the same amount of points it is a lot more difficult to make up that much ground.

If there is a chance that they might reset their points I dont know if I'd worry about it. Lot of projects out there that we still have a lot of dead weight to cut through.

I have been making a push in RCN if anyone wants to join in. We are the 14th highest producing team today. There is good 20 - 40 teams that are have little to no RAC ahead of us yet. We finally broke 9K in the Vault and I think we can get to 9300+ without too much trouble.

I see we broke 9K in PrimeGrid as well. Looks like we are gaining some ground in the Math section. :) Keep up the good work fellas.

yeah its all thanks to Adam Bavier on primegrid and his i7.. hes done more points in a month then i have in the 4 months ive been running that project.. :(

ill re-enable RCN and run some projects as well..

Nice 55k push from the GPUGRID team today!

After I'm done with Enigma I've been working on my lowest scoring projects and pushing them up then going back to the next lowest and so on.
I'm leaving Climate Prediction for when I go on vacation this summer so my next is PrimeGrid then RCN.
So I'll be coming up after you all in those projects soon.:D

I'll join back on RCN. :) Sorry I have been so quite lately, many things have been going on. I was still crunching but silent. It seems like I lost the top spot on RCN a while ago Metallicafan. Haha.

I need to change up my projects a bit, but I probably won't bother until after the chimp challenge. I've been kinda lazy and running the same 4 or 5 projects for a few weeks now.

My points were non existent for the last couple days. I'm trying to get a few things figured out with my computer. Running this project has made my computer hitch and slow down on opening things, and watching TV through Media Center. My plan of attack is to try it out with it using only 50% of the processors.

I think we can leave EON as is and focus on BOINC projects. I might switch my EON box back over to W@H.

My giant GIMPS tasks finally finish this week, so hopefully we'll see some gains there.

Sounds good.
I see you have picked up 2 of your badges in Yoyo and Tr0ach has picked up 1. Nice job.

Yeah, I can't decide if I want to work on my lowest projects, continue my push to get everything to 10K, upgrade all my bronze WCG badges to Silver, or try for yoyo badges! And the only answer I can come up with is....... moar 'D' to do it all! Where's that damn tax refund?! Guess I should've finished filing before 4/14 :p

Sounds good.

BTW, is the little green fish badge for the team founder or something? I didn't see it under the badge descriptions.

There is a lot of talk about adding NPLB search for primes project to the DC-Vault forum and it sounds like Rusty may do it soon.

The nice thing there is no manual reserving or reporting, its all automatically done and memory usage is very little.

Edit: If anyone wants there user name added to the NPLB team list but wish not go through the forum registration, just let me know what user name you would like to use and I'll have it added.

I just added my self to NPLB. Hopefully we can gain alot of points quickly and maybe gain a spot or two. :)

Great! We are getting off to a good start. Up to team spot 8 for k/n pairs already.
They usually add users to the teams very quickly.
If you want hour by hour stat updates you can use the Top Participants and Top Teams links in the main NPLB website navigation bar.

I am loving these workunits for NPLB. Sweet, short and low memory usage. As soon as it is added to the vault I will add my other computers over from RCN. Most likely once we are stable I will add back RCN.

From what I have read on their forums they are against changing the project to BOINC. They do not want it to be all about the points which is understandable.

And since they are a newer project I wonder if there servers will be able to keep up once added to the Vault.

Looks like I'll switch from PSP to NPLB, since the PSP units take a couple days to complete a work unit on an older 2GHz machine.

Does anyone know how to get llrnet to pause after completing a work unit? I'd hate to lose some PSP work, but I've done it before.

cntrl C should stop the work. Check the directory and look in the .txt files I think one of them is a check point file. If you find this file then just cntrl C should do it.

I messaged the admin about you guys not showing up under the team yet and they are waiting for the database guy to get on to update the database file.
All your points will follow you and be awarded to the team once they add you to the database.
Should be tonight sometime.

Welcome to the new team members !!

Nice going guys! I have been getting my rigs reconfigured for the CC. Its been a while since I have ran any F@H. But so far my Nvidia cards seem to be working well and are stable. I could swap one of them over to the Grid until the CC starts. Although somewhere in the back of my head I think I remember that 8800GTS 320s aren't supported by GPUGRID? Any truth to that or did I make that up? I can at least use my 8800GS I guess.

If its a G80 core then no you can not use it. G92 and up you can use.

Ramsey @Home is working on a cuda app that may be ready soon.
We should have some points in this project as soon as the server lets me report back the work that I'm doing right now for them.

A pair of 260-216's actually, just haven't got the 9800GTX's back up yet. They're going
in my new quad-core sever box, cause I really needed another puter:)

Think I can do almost 50k ppd for CC09

he he.. i can run one of your 9800GTX's for ya :p

one these days ill buy a new card so i can get my other system up and running.. dang money shortage..

Thats great tr0ach.
Those cards should really do some damage for you.
Sure glad your on our team ! :D

I tried running GPUGRID on my GTX 285, and it seemed to use a lot of CPU as well. Maybe I don't have something configured right, but what should the CPU load be? Should I expect something similar to F@H with 3% CPU usage?

I was able to cancel and hopefully unreserve the current work (it said it contacted the server) with PSP. However, I noticed the "once = 1" parameter above, and that does indeed stop after the current unit, at least with NPLB. I wanted to change to a different port, and that allowed me to do it without losing any work (uncomment "once = 1" and restart llrnet, wait for tasks to complete and quit, recomment "once = 1" and make other changes, and start llrnet again). I'll have to try that when I get back to PSP because those are painful.

GPUGRID running under Vista64 on a GTX 260 (192 shader) shows 3-5% in task manager on my machine.
