DC Vault

dunno i think their server is going up and down.. or has a default limit on how many projects it can send out.. i have my boinc set to 2 days worth of work but its only sending me 2-3 projects at a time with superlink..

I am really impressed with the Distributed Net CUDA client for Linux. Last week, I received 2 x 8800GTs to dedicate to FAH use but running GPU2 via WINE is just not stable for me and it also hogs way too much CPU compared to native Windows. However, this dnetc CUDA client has been running flawlessly on both GPUs and uses very little CPU.

We're back at #27 in Vault and should overtake #26 soon. We had a huge bump in Superlink, so much so that I put most of my clients back on RCN, although there are still Superlink tasks in the queue.

Next up, The Pirate Fleet at #25. :D

The Pirate Fleet should be a fun chase, as they actually have more room than us to go on Superlink - we finally have a spot to work for instead of just steamrolling!

Come and get us. We are a fairly small team spread out on all these projects. There is less then 15 of us currently crunching.

We will do what we can to give you a fight but I don't see it lasting to long.

I spent some money in the FS/FT section for some more "D" but I'm guessing the fight will be over before I receive the parts. :(

We just hit #140 in Superlink, and if we keep pushing on RCN, we could reach 100 by morning. There are still a lot of easy wins above us.

Overall Team Position: (Up 1 places) 26
Overall Team Score: (Up 333.878334 points) 286,434.347926

It seems that even by adding more DC projects you can't stop the [H]orde. It looks like we need another 3500 points to beat out the pirate fleet.

I thought that was a well known rule. :D

It now appears that you don't have 3/4 of the team's points in RCN. Is that better? :p

Big points adjustment, not sure why. Lots of teams lost a ton of points. The fleet was "lucky" to only lose 5k. It's like they yanked a project but I can't tell which.

Mathematical projects is where the most movement is seen. It might be from GIMPS.

If you look at the top 2 teams it doesn't look like GIMPS was a factor.

Haha I lost 3/4 of the points along time ago. It seems we lost those 4 spots by losing our OGR-26 team. Or did we not have one before?

OGR-26 shows a team but no points, I can't remember if that project was there earlier or not.

They probably added OGR-26 during/after the last stats update, so the numbers aren't showing up for everyone. Our team is ranked pretty high in OGR-26 (43 out of 432), so as soon as DC Vault updates properly, we should bounce back.

Some teams are missing the OGR stats others aren't. Must have been a hiccup at distributed.net. Hopefully it will get sorted out at the next update.

There was no OGR work availabe this morning might be linked.

Nice to see they re-ran the stats and we got those 9000 points back. :D

Also, we're almost to 100 in RCN, and only 8K points away from 100 in Superlink.

anyone here still running ufluids and noticing odd things like taking 10 times longer then it should to do a project.. along with the fact that it will only use 40% on each core?

I sent in our team name to the DC-Vault for Gimps so we should have a nice bump in points next vault update.

I see we finally hit 100 in RCN.

I've started a two-pronged attack. I'm running all BOINC projects that have less than 7K points in the vault, and I'm also running a few non-BOINC projects (W@H and Eon) that need help. I'll try to add some more non-BOINC projects.

EONstart was hung yesterday, so the reporters weren't running. I've got over 4K in the queue currently being sent back, so today we should be back on track for points. It's still a steep climb, but there are a bunch of teams above us with no daily output.

I agree on the attack of projects under 7K. I am gonna keep one box still on RCN but others im thinking of hitting Primegrid, and maybe some Docking@home. I don't have nearly enough boxen to attack all projects under 7K. Sazan how many boxen do you have?

Team 2ch just shot up with 9k points in Ogr-26 and 4 places overall.

Do we need to do similar?

Currently I only have two boxen running BOINC: the "new desktop" in my sig and a C2D laptop. The new desktop is currently cycling through 8 BOINC projects. It's going to be slow, but as projects get above 7K, I'll turn them off to devote more resources to the others. I'll probably have the laptop work on the ones with lowest points like Yoyo and Cosmology.

My F@H box is also running W@H (4 processes), and my desktop is running Eon (6 crunchers).

Oh I only have 2 C2Ds an E8400 and an E6750, I have 3 P4s and a P3 running too but those dont put out nearly the points the of the C2D. Hopefully soon I can buy a C2Q and see how well that runs. :)

Quick question, kinda sounds dumb however, I already have points on E@H from along time ago. If I switch my team from my old team to here does the points help out or just once I start crunching again?

I couldn't find the answer to that but I asked the question in the Eon (Free-DC) Forum.
I'll let you know if someone answers.
I guess in short, you could try it and see what happens.

Rusty e-mailed me this about adding Gimps to our team vault.

"GIMPS is taking it's time updating the file we get the stats from.
I will add it soon...hopefully"

I also asked him if he knew anything about Proteins@Home and when it may be added.

Stop and admire what we did in superlink. When it got added to the vault, I had 27 points on the board. 3 day later, we're a top 10 producing team and about to crack the top 100 overall. 8,219 Vault points.

Again, 3 days. Feel our wrath. :D

...and, we managed to reach the top 100 in RCN at the same time, although a little later than planned.

That's whats impressive. We weren't just doing RCN, or just superlink. There's 10 projects on the Vault that we have some green on.

Heading forward, I'll be paying closer attention to the discussion on the vault forum about potential project additions. I would rather not have another big scramble.
