DC Vault

Bring the console up and under one of the menu items (3rd from the left I think) is a choice to view throughput.
Select that and it will change from the console view to a running graph and details that shows your buffers, average speed, time, errors and how many blocks you have done.

Ahhh . . . OK. I found the graph and such I guess I just didnt see totals for the blocks. Does it automatically use both GPUs if you have two cards in the same box? Or did you have to run two instances of the program?

Yeah that was my question last night when I ran it on a multi-gpu system.
It does auto recognize multi GPU's even if they are different and run a thread of work on each at the same time.
So you only need one instance of the program.
I had no problems at all with it, just be sure that you don't CPU time starve it.
It does require some cpu time to run at full speed and if you crowd the cpu to much you can slow the RC5-72 program down from feeding the GPU's.

finally got the seti one running the gpu on boinc but its barely even using the gpu.. idle temps 38C its sitting at 39C crunching data.. which means it isnt doing crap even though its working the unit.. still think the coding needs some work since its obviously not taking full advantage of the gpu..

I agree sirmonkey1985, the Seti Cuda code does need improved.
I see the same low temps and usage here as well.

Well, another update, another 2278 points up... This made me start thinking about how many DC Vault pernts our little merry band puts up, so I started looking through the top 100. To put our [H]ardness into perspective, I only saw 4 teams above us who increased by more than 100 total for this update, and the best was 190... Below us, Ubuntu Linux (#91) posted an increase of 605, but 514 of that was due to Sudoku, so that's less than 100 for all other projects combined. I believe all others were less than 100...

Now I know that the higher we get, the [H]arder it will be to keep up these 2000+ jumps, but at this point, all I can say is damn, we're some [H]ard SOBs! :D Can't wait until I can finally bring a few moar CPUs online and start farmin' a bit!

The most impressive thing about our rise is that there's still 9 projects that we haven't started on yet. That's a total of 90,000 points that we still haven't taken our slice of yet, and more large growth potential still. Not a bad effort at all for the 9 dedicated Commandos and a few honorary ones.

Now that I say that, maybe we could use a Commando roster. :D

And I have a little more "D" coming via FedEx on Tuesday. Nothing big this time, but its something that I don't have running now. :p

The nexy update should be a pretty big jump too. A quick check reveals that we have jumped 1150 places in the last update of RC5-72. That should get us a quick couple thousand.:eek: Props to Razor - he has had some impressive output the last 24 hours!

Alan - Im intrigued about this "D" that you speak of. :D

Go Horde Go!

Thanks metallicafan but the props go to the whole team.
Our little team of commandos has been rocken projects to there cores. (no pun intended)

This is one hell of a team. Props to the whole team of [H]ard DC Commandos!

1150 places? Seriously, is that the best that you can do? :D

Like I said, it's not much, just an old AMD that I found on the side of the road that I'm going to stick a couple TB of storage into.

Our [H]ard|OCP GPUGRID team sure is growing.
18 members now and growing daily.
Welcome all new members.
Today Michael put in 10,788 points his first day! Sweet.
We are about to over come TeAm AnandTech in 56th spot.
Todays total output was 34,753 points. Wow!

Thats some damn fine crunching Michael. And who knows, he may not have even hit his maximum yet.

Now, back over to the Vault forum for my daily suggestion to add GPUGRID. :p

I have 9 SHA-1 collision units sitting at "ready to report." Is there a way to force those to upload or a setting I need to adjust to make that go? Or does that just take some time with certain projects? They have been piling up for about 24 hours now I guess.

Today's update: up 2 more places to #76.

Nice crunching all around!

They go at the next scheduled update for that project. But if you're that impatient, on the projects tab, hilight sha-1 and press update.

Yeah, I find myself doing that all the time, especially when I'm at work! Always looking to see if I've added another 100 pernts to my totals...

And I'll up you by a day - my RMAed PSU should be here on Monday, and assuming it works this time, I can fire up the two 3.2 GHz cores on home machine, which should more than double my output. That should move me from 10% of Razor's output to 20%! :D

On a side note, my SWMBO was asking my about HTPC's from something she read, and I assured her I could build one for about the same as buying a new Blu-Ray (I'm thinking $500 + all the extra parts I have around here, room for 2-3 GPUs later). And all HTPC's need a quad core, right?

Don't forget a high powered video card for showing all that video. :D

welp looks like im going to be shutting down a couple of my boxes for this month.. our electrical bill last month was over 400 dollars..

was using over 800w of power the last 4 months.. going to cut it down to about 500w if i can.. turning off 3 of the laptops.. and turning off my gpu folding..

Ouch monkey. $400 is getting expensive indeed. :( Power companies need to start giving us incentives for folding. :D

yeah and thats just with 3 laptops and 3 desktops crunching on boinc and 1 gpu folding.. other 3 laptops in the house usually sit idle..

Making some nice progress in the Vault. WTG Commandos!

The project spreadsheet is updated and current AFAIK...

Noticed Spinhenge is down this morning. I've got about 20 units sitting in my queue trying to connect. Guess that'll give me some time to catch up on the other projects. :D

OGR-26 team started. It's just a shame that the phantom alan2308 that did OGR units under yoyo@Home can't join and double dip. :D

Yeah I have been running OGR-26 since last night, so tonights update should be pretty nice in this project.

How chewy are OGR WU's?
Not to bad. A little slow.
On a 4ghz E8400 dual core it runs 2 threads simultaneously. With 2 GPU FAH clients running I have produced:
9 hours = 101 packets = 3088 stat units.

Welcome kc8iqw to GPUGRID and Administrator to QMC@Home (forget to change the default username when you signed up :D)!!

I have e-mailed the distributed.net HardOCP team coordinator "SlashDude" to get the password for our team page so that we may update its info and links.
He hasn't been active for a long time so I don't know if he can be reached.
If he doesn't respond in a reasonable time we may have to bring the problem up to the distributed.net site administrators to see if we can request a change in team coordinator.

Yeah, we also need to seriously remove all of that html code from our team description.
Yeah that was my plan, and put our logo in there if possible and update the team description.

Aw, come on now. Inappropriately placed HTML is great!

And seriously, they started the team because they can't/won't run Folding@Home or Genome@Home. Slashdude obviously hasn't been to the site in a good 5 years.

In addition to SHA-1, I am now working on OGR-26

Code:
[Jan 11 23:45:44 UTC] OGR-NG: 40 packets remain in buff-in.og2
[Jan 11 23:45:44 UTC] OGR-NG: 6 packets (253.33 stats units) are in
                      buff-out.og2

I need more "D". :D

I smell another 5000+ point jump coming from OGR-26 in our near future. :D

OGR-26 will be even better tomorrow as I just turned in my first set of 45 packets, 3293.10 stats units. :) As a stats junkie, I'm very depressed that they don't update stats more often. :p

Projects like that piss me off. It took forever and a day before the stats page even heard of me. :( That's what I love most about a lot of these BOINC based projects, your stats update the second you turn the unit in. It doesn't get any better than that.

I need to give a special Thank You for the effort of a silent workhorse - tr0ach.
Just about every project I have involved myself in he is there by my side crunching his a$$ off.
I can attest to how time consuming and just how difficult it is to be so diversified in so many projects and clients and to manage such a feat is extremely impressive.

I give my very best thanks for your effort and dedication to the [H]ard DC Commandos efforts in this endeavor to improve upon our position in the DCing community.
The effort put into the [H]ard DC Commandos is extremely inspiring and I am very proud to be part of such an elite team!!

Thanks everyone,

Just added myself to our OGR-26 team about an hour ago. My stats will start showing up on the next update.

Agreed 100%. I have even noticed tr0ach pop up on an occasional non-DC Vault project.

And I'll attest to the effort that goes into all this project hopping. Sometimes I forget I still have something going on F@H. :D
