It can take up to 6hrs from when you turn in your first wu. Most of the time less.

You show up with 2 work units completed on Stanford's site. You don't show up on Extreme Overclocking's site yet, though. It shouldn't be too much longer before you're on there but I would give it a couple of more updates. You are also shown as folding for team 33.

Must remmeber to check forum...

I will try to help if you have any problems, but its a pretty simple dos batch. If anyone thinks I need to add to the readme please let me know.

Edit, got it hosted at http://sjc.ceu.edu/log/folding.zip and md5 http://sjc.ceu.edu/log/folding.txt The firewall isn't letting .md5 files through, you will have to rename folding.txt to folding.md5 to check the md5.

Dude....
The links don't work for me. :(

Can we get this hosted with the other files & FAQ's?

I have a better script now. Its still a batch but there is less changes to be made to get it to run. Also it works with windows 2000/XP. http://sjc.ceu.edu/logik/folding.rar

Oh and it doesn't work because I removed the link to make the new one. sorry about that.

Edit yes I would like it to be hosted with other programs, but I want it to work first.

I would like to know if the program is working for you, and if you can understand the instructions.

I guess I should state again that I will try to be as helpful as I can in getting the program to work.

My plug has been pulled :(

It seems they (higher ups) didn't realize the CPU would be running at 100% 24/7 when folding. So they asked me to remove it to prevent any damages (which is BS but what can I say) to the system hardware/PSU, etc. So I sadly have to remove the clients Sunday. (Easter Sunday at that :( )

Man i'm so disappointed.. did all the right things, ask for permission, installed the clients late Friday night.. now this :(

They mentioned I could take as many P2 450 systems I want home.. but not to run the clients on company pc's. Is a P2 450 good enough to fold, or should I look for a diskless Athlon XP farm?

Terribly sorry about the bad news. Chin up, "we's a team". Do what you can, and 450 pentiums may get a touch expensive, if you're paying the electric bill. In my begging thread over at Divx.com, one of our teammates, thought he needed to apologize, for failing to borg, the entire LA County school district. Actually thought he had a chance, and prepped for 2 months. We take the setbacks, and come up with a new plan.

Sorry to hear about that. Some higher ups don't udnerstand computers very well. I know mine don't.

Yes you can fold on those P2 450's. If they are goign to just be dumping them and they are yours for good get them for sure, I am sure people will be willing to take them off your hands.

PII 450's will fold timeless WU's just fine. As mentioned, though, they are a bit expensive if you run very many of them considering the power they chew up. They are inefficient compared to newer systems.

Also, this may help you getting the systems back possibly. You do not have to run the systems at 100% processor usage. It can be set to any percentage that you want. They may allow you to run the systems at 50% or 75% usage instead. This would cut down on production but it's more than if they aren't folding at all. Besides, considering the amount of power you have, it would still be substantial production.

i just thought of this... would they allow it if it only took, say... 75%? cause you can configure that really easily. or any other arbitrary value they want. as long as they can do some work... it still helps.
