I will put together the rig next week . . .here are the monitors:

TripleHead2Go is working . . .not all that I dreamed of but it is good enough:

I think it is something like 3072 x 768 . . .limited by the resolutions of the Westys.

OMG. I have, almost the exact same desk/table as you. Now I feel lame.

j/k. My dad got me it because he thought a picnic table would be a better substitute to a desk.

I have five or six of those for LAN parties at my house.

I was gonna go Skulltrail, but I decided I'm going to wait for Nehalem.

Nonetheless, I can't wait to see what you get up to Darth :)

So DeeB's, are you happy with the skulltrail setup I sent ya ? just dont forget to send them back to me when your finished with them ;) and please dont let the horses anywhere near them this time :p

All that setup and a fold out chair!!? Common!

What's the rest of the system specs? How do you find stability. I've always gone bleeding edge, but after the last few bleeding edge problems I trying to stay away from this. Quad SLI, 4X4, etc comes to mind :(

Dude that is a test setup in my sports room . . .I have 5-6 folding tables and tons of folding chairs I use for lan parties at my house . . .

Am I the only enthusiast that keeps side panels on all his machines?

Here is a sneak peek . . .

mod looks very promising !

do i spot a jägermeister cooling machine on the left side?, was the pic taken in a bar or do you have one at home

4-way . . .

NVIDIA doesn't have four way SLI unless you count the 7950GX2. Quad-SLI is four GPUs on two cards. 3-Way SLI however is 3 GPUs on 3 seperate cards which NVIDIA doesn't support on the Skulltrail. According to an E-Mail we got from NVIDIA on the subject Skulltrail can not and never will support 3-Way SLI. I covered this in the Intel Skulltrail Preview Article.

Too bad that doesn't work either. Only Crossfire is supported for all four slots.

Correct. Even then you still can't use 4 3870X2's even if they did have a single slot cooling solution. ATI supports up to four cards with one GPU each or two cards with two GPUs each.

I gave up on quad sli the moment nvidia decided to abandon thier quad users.

Damn, thats a pretty big blow. This ensures I won't buy a skulltrail :( Why can't somone satisfy everyone and make an ultimate board :D

Ohhhhhhh, has Darth messed up ? does he not know about skulltrail not being capable of 3 or 4 way sli ?

Find out in tomorrow's great episode of " What Skulltrail Cannot Do"

^LOL!!

I can't wait to hear the response as well! :)

LOST, one more night!!

I actually tried 3-Way SLI when I was setting up the Skulltrail test system used in the Intel Skulltrail Preview Article and when 3-Way SLI didn't work I contacted Kyle who in turn contacted Intel. Intel contacted us right away and let us know that SLI support was up to NVIDIA, but that NVIDIA had already told them that 3-Way SLI would not work on the Skulltrail motherboard.

I thought that it was likely a driver issue. Then a day or so before the Skulltrail article was to be published we received an E-Mail from NVIDIA. Their E-Mail clearly stated that the nForce 100 MCPs integrated into the D5400XS motherboard were not capable of 3-Way SLI support and that it was a hardware limitation and not a driver issue.

4 Way . . .

And you believe that bullshit? Where are the benchmark numbers and the performance data to back this up? How do you bridge all of these things together? I've never heard of this and if it were true I think it would be all over the web and it wouldn't take too long before NVIDIA would disable that feature in drivers if they truly didn't want people to do this. BTW I think that's a load of crap because if it did work, they'd gladly announce 4-Way SLI in order to get people like me to buy four cards instead of two or three.

I have no doubt that NVIDIA is capable of making 4 GPUs work. Again I think if this were real it would have made news in more tech circles by now. I think buying four 8800GTX's just to implement this is foolish. Since you've already started this I'd like to see you prove me wrong but I doubt you will.By the way I've seen the four GPU rendering modes in the drivers. I know they are there, but there has got to be a reason why NVIDIA wouldn't advertise 4-Way SLI instead of 3-Way SLI. I'd bet on it not working right or not scaling worth a shit at all. Not to mention crashes and any number of other possible issues.

Four cards sounds pretty intense. I'm interested to see if this works or not. Have you tested it out yet at all DB? Or are you still waiting on some stuff before you are able to?

I dunno if this will work or not, but I think the hardest problem would be how to bridge all 4 cards, but, sli can work without physical bridge cards, as I got it working a few years back with the then new I think 100. forceware drivers, although it wasnt as good performance without the bridges as it was with them. Now, whether tri sli or 4 way sli can do the same thing as normal sli and work to some degree without physical bridges attached to the video cards i dont know, as I aint stupid/rich enough to waste money on 4 gtx's to find out :)

Does the person you link to DeeB's who explains howto get 4 way sli working, does he have it working already in that configuration ? or is he just surmising on how it would work ?

I am waiting on my rads and psus from the painters. Dan, get ur panties out of a twist. I never said it will work I said it is what I am going for. And I have spoken with Nvidia...they did not say it would not work :)

If you have all of the gear I guess you might as well try it out, right? If it doesn't work, then it doesn't work and you've got a bunch of video cards, but if it does work, then that'd be pretty sick, haha. Also, when I first saw one of the thumbnails for the case, I thought you were making a submerged system. The way the plexiglass is it makes it look like there was liquid in it.
