I am not sure what Lance Cottrell has been doing on the dark web, but they took his Bitcoin and are not letting him play with the other Dark Webbers any more! Seriously, if you think that the Dark Web and Tor hides all your identities and secrets, then think again. It seems as though the folks on the Dark Web are brighter than you might think.


Hiding your true identity is always important whenever you are conducting investigations online. The fact that you are visiting a Tor hidden service / dark web site does not mean you are safe or hidden. It is critical to take additional steps to protect yourself when conducting these operations.
 
So you saying that even "hackers" know there is money in knowing their users' identities and viewing habits? I for one and shocked! But not that shocked.

I'm extra cautious, I use Forever Stamps from 4 years ago and then shred and burn the remaining. You know, to obfuscate the evidence.
 
LEA would be totally screwed if people conducted crime in real life.

Doesn't everyone know not to use JavaScript or use more than one account credentials/ email. Those two things right there will make you almost totally anonymous. If you wanted to get even more secure. Setup and encrypted VPN to a VPS, then connect thru another VPN to another VPS... then to tor. Again, the VPS need to be rented in a discrete way. Enjoy your 1000 ms ping and 56k speeds though.

not sure if our government does this but they should monitor reddit for all the posts linking to the dark web to buy drugs... i guarantee you half the people asking "Where can you buy xyz" are the sellers to get free hype....
