So I pre-ordered Madden 12 for the Xbox 360 at Amazon. Seemed like a great deal...free release day shipping (delivery on 9/13)...reserve gift in the form of a $20 amazon credit (aka $40 Madden 12)...

And then I find out that there is a delay...FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU:mad:

So I rage on Amazon chat support and they offer me a $20 certificate. Now it's $20 Madden 12.

As long as I don't have to wait too long I'll be fine. In the mean time I will dominate in NCAA 12.

Still kinda pissed that they waited until the day it came out to tell me.

So they accommodated you by giving you an additional $20? Sounds like the title should be "Thank you Amazon!!!"

You're getting a new game for $20 and you're complaining

Only in America :p

Silly boys...The money isn't the issue. If I had a problem with paying $60 I wouldn't have got it. I will make this note because some of you will pick the sentence apart if I don't.
Note: Obviously I would prefer to pay less but not at the expense of something else.

I definitely think they played it right but the point is I made a purchase with the expectation that I would get it on the day specified before I committed and they didn't tell me it was sold out until the last minute. Not to mention it still says "In stock" on their website. What grinds my gears is it's obvious they don't have any in stock (and probably didn't when I ordered it) but they still have it marked as "In Stock". I have the Madden fever now I can't get my cure for another few days.

Not to mention, why would I thank them for messing up? It's like if you pay me to fix your car and I never fix it but say i'll give you $xx off your bill. Sure that's great that i'm giving you a discount but that doesn't dismiss the fact that I didn't do what you paid me to do in the first place.

I'm being serious, I wish I had your enthusiasm for a game like this :) As I get older most games are just getting "meh" to me.

Madden isn't even on PC, thus I haven't played it in years. You're complaining about getting it for $20?

Boo this man!

Reading comprehension fail. Re-read the OP.

No where did I say anything remotely close to "DAMN YOU AMAZON! $20 FOR A $60 GAME IS MADNESS!".

I'm just upset that I was led to believe i'd have it on the release day and they're still misleading people. However, I just got an email notification saying I should get it Thursday. So now that I know I only lose out on 2 days then it's definitely worth the $20/day pay off. :p

I've pre-ordered games on Amazon many times and always used release day shipping. To this day, I've never had an issue, and the game is always on my doorstep on release day. I would have to think there was just an unlucky issue at your distributor or something. Even then, I'd gladly wait 2 days for an extra $20 off lol.

I am upset that I was led to believe that this was going to be a post about some crazy info on Amazon. It is not, where is my $20?

Agreed. The only time I ever pre-ordered a game at Worst Buy, it arrived 10 days late, and all I got was a late game and excuses.

When did you pre-order? I didn't place my Pre-order until the 27th and I got mine on release date.

I would rather have amazon get a order wrong verse gamestop I have pre-ordered only to find out gamestop does not have it the day it was released and they did not care that it was delayed and we got nothing except a written apology amazon is awesome in comparison.

Wow same thing happened to me and all they did was refund me the 99 cents shipping I paid. I even talked to their support.

I knew this was a possibility though I would say amazon release day delivery is about 50/50 for me. Its worth the risk for the $20 credits they always give you though.

If money wasn't an issue, why bother wasting time to "rage on Amazon chat support" about it? Did you think they were going to teleport the game to you? Or did crying about it in a chat really make you feel better?

Shit happens; get over it. They offered compensation for the problem (which wasn't required on their part, just sympathy).

...These Genmay complaint threads are getting ridiculous.
