Customized Controllers

It seems like the console manufacturers could do a little to allow of cosmetic customization of controllers. If you look at what Motorola is doing with the Motomaker and the Moto X, I feel like a similar idea could work for the console manufacturers.

I feel like that could be a way for them to add a little more profitability to some of those controllers if they charged a small premium, and allowed you to pick front and back colors, and maybe buttons. Those differences would cost them very little, and could add a nice little touch.

What do you think, would you spend an extra 5 or 10 dollars to make a non knockoff controller in your favorite color combination?

I personally wouldn't. I'd much rather pull the controller apart and do my own customizations.

However, there are some pretty cool controller mod sites out there that sell custom designs. I know they charge more than $5-$10, but you get some pretty wicked effects.

This is just a quick google search, but the designs are pretty nice.

Just find a local Water Transfer Printing service. They can do patterns for much cheaper.

I don't know why they don't do this already. I understand it may not be very feasible at product launch, but once the initial order rush is over, they should move forward with something like this. I think it would be cool to be able to customize at least the color/accents of the consoles and controllers. I wouldn't pay more then $50 for such a service, but that's just me. :D

No way would I pay to customize a controller like that. The white smoke pattern was cool but not $109 cool
