I've been researching various online shops that build computers and have discovered that most were geared for gamers so have given thoughts to buying the parts and have someone build the computer for me. I've seen postings elsewhere where it was mentioned that there are system builders on this site who might be able to build a system. I've posted on other sites asking for help but with little to no luck as ideally I'd like to find someone from Texas (San Antonio) ideally. Any information or suggestions on who I might contact would be greatly appreciated. I'm sorry if I have posted this in the wrong area.

First and foremost, what will you be using this PC for?
 
I'll be using this computer to do office applications, web browsing, watching movies/programing from the web (music,sports. etc). I have built a parts list that some have said is too exteme for what I am interested in and have oriced it on some of the online boutique shops such as Digital Storm and AVA Direct but I'd feel more comfortable if I could have it built locally that way both service and support would be more readily available. I haven't seen many postings here talking about those who build systems as most are geared towards building your own however for me I can't see spending between $1300-1500 for parts and then not know what you're doing. I'm sorry if my posting doesn't belong on the site.

Well here's the deal: Unfortunately, "the buying, selling, trading, or solicitation of SERVICES is prohibited". So unfortunately you really can't ask anyone here on the forums to actually build the PC for you. You might be better off checkin your local Craigslist for someone to build it for you.

And two: You really might be better off just buying a $400 to $500 prebuilt from Dell or HP. I honestly don't see a really valid reason for a DIY setup for your usage scenario let alone someone custom building the setup for you. Even a $600 laptop would fit your needs just fine.
 
some sites will build the computer for you. Usually charge around $50-100.

I agree with this guy. It sounds like a prebuilt computer is good enough for your usage. Unless you want to experience building your own computer, it might be more cost effective if you bought a prebuilt one.

If you do go ahead with your plan, then check out craigslist. There has to be at least one computer store in your area where they can build it for you.
