Hey kids. Let me start this thread out by saying that I am not recruiting for a competitive clan.

Now that I've gotten that out of the way, I just wanted to announce that I've recently opened a 12-slot, 100-tick Counter-Strike: Source server based out of Chicago with full HLstatsX tracking. I was getting tired of playing with cheaters exploiting wallhacks and using aimbots. As long as I was playing on public servers, I was playing with cheaters. I love playing CS:S, but I'm not a serious enough player to join a competitive clan... or good enough for that matter. So, I decided that the only way for me to have an enjoyable time was to open my own server so I could utilize whatever anti-cheat scripts and plug-ins that I desired. With that in mind, I've launched souL|Clan.

souL|Clan is not a clan in the traditional sense. The idea is that once I've rounded up 15-20 like-minded players, the server will go private and a password will be required to access it. This will give that core group of players a chance to enjoy a casual, but completive atmosphere to play CS:S without dealing with immature cheating punks. If this sounds like something that might interest you, check out any of the info below.

Thanks for checking it out, guys! Take care

I'd defenetily be interested. I'm near Chicago, so I should get a good ping... and without having to deal with all the immature idiots out there would make this quite nice.

I'm definitely interested, but the 12 player limit is a bit too small for my taste.

The 12-player limit is like training wheels for now. Once I determine that people are genuinely taking an interest in the idea, I'll probably expand it. There's also an 80-slot Ventrilo server available to me, but I haven't set that up yet. We'll see how things go. :)

12 players is actually fine IMHO. To many people and things start to just get stupid. With smaller teams, players are more likley to work together, which makes things way more fun.

I tried starting up one of these a while back...The toughest part is getting the first 5 or so people to stay and play, because without people in the server, no one is going to join...I tried my damndest to pull people in, but it just never happened.....

I'm willing to support your efforts though :D SIGN ME UP!

Just swing by my Forums for signup info. Hopefully we can get it off the ground soon! :)

No one is going to play on your server if you don't list the IP address.

Already applied and got a reserved spot :D

I'll be hitting the server tonight, hopefully someone else is playing.

This is where laziness will be the death of you. The IP address is clearly listed on the website that I linked to in the first post. If you want all of the information handed to you on a silver platter, doing nothing for yourself, you're probably not my target demographic.

And like Viper said, it will wind up being a private server. At that point, the IP address will be yanked anyhow as it won't do anyone any good without the password. Until then, it's open to the public... at least to those of you who are willing to do anything whatsoever to find the server. ;)

No offense, but this will never take off - (I'll be glad to be proven wrong though).

The solution to this is opening up a ~20 slot private server that has a bunch of good admins who are always in the server. The best way to protect against hackers is having good admins on.

Checked it out... Dynamic pricing is right out. Sry.

That's why I've stated that everything is open for discussion. If the group dislikes it, it goes away. If you want to dismiss the idea because of your weapons preference, so be it. Your loss. A few of us actually had a decent session tonight.

I had fun :). Though, I need to figure out my video card issues. With crossfire on, CS crashes a lot... with it off, I get to many framerate hitches.

How serious of players are you looking for? I'd love to be a part of this, but to be honest I don't play CS:S on a consistent basis anymore. But I would like to be a part of this so that I have a good place to go when I DO make it online. Let me know!

However serious you are is the right amount of serious. Hehe. Check out the website and shoot me an email. At the very least, we could probably throw you into the Tier Two group. Basically, there are 12 slots on the server, so I have 12 Tier One slots. These player's are on the Mani's Admin reservelist. Anytime they want to play on the server and it's full, the player with the highest ping gets booted. But honestly, the likelihood of having all 12 of the Tier One players online at once is pretty low. So, I've created 8 spots for people to jump onto the server when it's not full, which is what I'm calling Tier Two. When the server goes private, both Tier One and Tier Two players will get a server password. More than likely, everyone will get plenty of playtime since real life tends to pull us away from gaming more often than we'd like. ;)

Anyhow, drop by soulclancss.com, check out the FAQ and forums, and drop me a line.

I play CS:S all the time, just won a match on inferno 27-3 :) woot. Anyways, yeah I am in and one thing for sure is, get dynamic pricing off :) Thats another vote from me.
