Crysis Warhead Freezing

I'm not sure if this is the right place to put this, but anyway-

I recently overclocked my proc, ran prime on it for a while to confirm it was stable, then played crysis warhead without a hitch for about an hour.

When I next turned it on and tried to play it, the game would consistently report "Crysis Warhead has stopped working" and flash between a black screen and the desktop. During the moments where you can see the desktop, the cursor and all actions are severely lagged, I've tried downclocking my processor to default, but it didn't help.

I'm not sure whether it is hardware or software- maybe the gpu isn't getting enough juice, maybe the game is bugged up, I'm running on the beta catalyst drivers, so maybe that is the cause- no idea, give me some suggestions!
 
I have, all the way down to stock, same thing. It's not really crashing- it's just making computer unusable because the flashing black screen, no BSODs.
 
Here's some food for thought:
Do other games work?
What happens if you reinstall your beta video drivers?
Does this occur on normal non-beta drivers?
Does reinstalling crysis change the behavior?
Have you tried running crysis in safe mode(IIRC, it has one)?
Are you running the latest crysis patch? It might be an incompatability with your new GPU.
Is this with your new i5 rig? Are you certain that your PSU(at 630W, it seems a bit low to me) has enough power?
 
thanks guys, working on trying all those right now. Actually zoson, I had previously thought my psu was broken, but it was a stupid mistake on my part- long story short- I bought a new 500w psu for short term and it worked fine, sustained my overclock- I'm also trying a psu swap.
