The game I want to play is coming out next month

I have kuma 4770 with 780gx board(crossfire)
onboard graphic
no cd/dvd rom with only 1 harddrive

Which will be better for me?
dual 4850 or 4770? I'm going to buy one at a time and buy another one when price drops even more.
I'm using 700w rockfish power supply(i know it sux but got it for only $20)
Also I game on 23 inch monitor. I dont plan to use AA.
I dont plan to overclock my card either so I'm thinking about getting 4850(around 80 dollar when its on sale compare to $100 bucks 4770) but just cant make decision.
Anybody else had to make decision like mine?

I agree. Get a 4890 and use AA. It hardly decreases performance at all but improves visuals so much.

I don't know if he has the money for the 4890, hence why he said he's buying one now and one later.

I'd go 4770 if you can find it, and 4850 if you can't.

No reason to get a HD 4770, when the HD 4850 is cheaper and also overall faster.

The 4770 is between the 4830 and 4850 in performance. The 4770 was intended to be very low cost, but serious supply issues has driven the price up higher than 4850 prices, making the 4770 a poor choice.

How do you manage to do anything without a CD or DVD drive, though?

what game.and that monitor is 2.1 or 2.3mp? a 4870 1gb is not far from the price of the 4850 1gb so I would go for the 4870 myself (skip the crossfire). but if your on tight budget go for the 4850. remember if you go crossfire that what you really have for a PSU is rebranded 550 huntkey.

If your not going to OC the 4890 looses some of its appeal (at least to me)

I would just go with 4850. Yes, the 4770 is cooler and uses less power, but its not like the 4850 uses that much anyway. I have a 4770 myself... but would have liked to get a 4850 because they are a little cheaper and therefor, when you go for crossfire, its gonna save you a little money.

My 4770 performs very nice though. I have overclocked to max on the ATI Catalyst tool (although I hear you can OC more with another tool) and the temps stay cool.

a 4850 uses twice the power of the 4770 if that matters. that means a 4850 crossfire setup would use way more power than a 4770 crossfire setup. also in a few months a 4850 or even 4770 crossfire would be a silly upgrade path as we will have newer cards. at that point it would be smarter to sell the 4850 or 4770 and pick up a 5850 or whatever its called.
