Crossfire Question(s)

Ok, I'm new to the whole Crossfire thing. I'm looking at getting a Crossfire ed. card to match my X1900XT.

1). Is there only 1 X1900 crossfire edition or do I have to match one for the XT or XTX?

2). Do I need to match manufacturers? I have a Connect 3d XT card. Do I need a Connect 3d Crossfire ed card or can I get say an Asus or MSI since they are cheapest on newegg?

3). Can I use a X1950 crossfire card with the X1900XT?

4). Anyone have a X1900 Crossfire edition card they want to sell me for a reasonable price ?

1) Only one - the X1900 CF Edition. There are several manufacturers for them though.

2) No need to match manufacturers - I have a Sapphire X1900XT paired with an Ati X1900XT CF Edition.

3) I'm pretty sure that works, but I've not tried it.

4) Not right now, maybe when R600 is out

It will work fine but the X1950 will be downgraded to match the 1900 speed

Yeah that should work. I say that because I saw another post in the last week where a guys said he had a 1950 and a 1900 working together. I forget if I saw it in his signature or in the text of the post.

Well, then I guess it doesn't pay to use a X1950 crossfire edition because it's about $100 more than the X1900, and the X1950 will downclock to that speed anyway.
