Crossfire and Vista issues...

Anyone else having issues with the two? Using 2x X1950 Pro's... I am getting some issues. I am using the latest 7.2 Drivers. I have only tried a handful of games, but things seem really hit or miss. First was Dark Messiah, which wouldn't load at all. I did a fresh install, still no luck. But, I patched to 1.2, and now it seems to be working fine so far. So, I figured anything source would be good to go... nope. CSS is being a pain. I am getting random crashes (always hl2.exe has stopped responding), and I seem to be having framerate issues. Normally, its quite high... ive seen it over 150fps, but it will seem to randomly tank at times, dropping to ~5fps for a few seconds than returning to what it was.

Oblivion has crashing issues too. At first it wouldn't load at all. I did a fresh installation, with no mods, and it loads now, but after just a few minutes of romping in the forest, it crashed with a oblivion.exe has stopped responding. It worked fine with my 7900GT.

I got a nice performance boost going from a single, unOCable 7900GT to these babies... now I just need to get them to work. Anyone else having issues?

well, u have to wait for new drivers, or for SP1.

I have the same problem with 2 1900's and Vista. I couldn't load half the games I had fully without errors and when I tried playing them, they would crash at random times to desktop, or not even load the intro's at all.

There is a compatibility list for games on the Microsoft website, however one of the games I play (battlefield 2) I am still having difficulties running it. I actually went back to Windows XP as of today just so I can run them. Give it some time for it to work its way out.

The Vista drivers just aren't ready for prime time yet. This is one reason I never jump on a brand new OS this early. My recommendation is to go back to XP until a few more updates for both Vista and the drivers have been released.

The problems will get taken care of eventually, I just don't like playing with this hit or miss crap.

This is what I wanted to hear. I just wanted confermation that I am not alone on these issues, so I know that it's something I just have to wait for a new driver for, and not something I may have been able to fix on my own.

I won't be going back to XP. It's just to difficult to go back and fourth, and then when the new 7.3 drivers come out this month I am just going to want to go back and try again. I still have my 360 to fullfil gaming needs, and some games still work fine here. I'd rather just wait it out. ATI atleast seems to have a solid driver plan, releasing one update a month... and bugs aside, performance seems to be solid.
