Yes, I know these pop up a lot, but the help here is really invaluable :)

all prices are in CDN

Intel E6600 $265 (tax included)
Corsair XMS2 TWIN2X2048-6400C4 4-4-4-12 $187.20 - ($50 rebate)
ASUS P5B Deluxe/WiFi $239.76
eVGA 8800GTS 640mb $395 - ($30 rebate )
OCZ GameXStream 700W $142.61 - ($25 rebate)

Total $1,230 ($105.00)
Tax $73.77
Total+Tax $1,303.34
Total+Tax-Rebates $1,198.34

I realize some rebates may not come in and in general take a long time, so I'm looking at ~$1250
what do you guys think? :)

Just one thing will you use the Wifi? If not it is a bit of a waste. Also consider the new P35 based boards as they have some killer OC' potential.

the wifi is a $15 difference. I do have a wifi router at home, so it's always a possibility, and a cheap one at that

can I get away with a 600W psu here?
I don't plan on SLI anytime soon

SIi on that board == false. It can how ever do a pesudo Crossfire. 16x 4x bandwidth.

Also what sort of 600 WT PSU are you thinking of?

Don't get that OCZ PSU, it has a lot of ripple. Get a Corsair HX620W instead, it'll be more than enough.

Couple things I noticed.

1) e6600 @ $265? That's kinda high for that proc. Newegg has them for 224 and free shipping.

2) Memory, $187 for memory? You can get some awesome DDR2-800 for a lot less. Gskill Hz's which are the infamous Micron D9 chips are selling on newegg for $115.

3)8800gts 640mb, I've seen these for as low as $305, pretty sure the egg has em for $315 after rebate.

Lesson at hand? Maybe you should do a little shopping around. Also too how are you planning on OCing your proc, because if you aren't planning on pushing extreme fsb speeds (500+) then you could probablly even settle for some value DDR2-800 memory, and save a few bucks there as well. :D

He's in Canada and those prices are in Canadian. Didn't notice that, did you?

Anyway, mystro, your build looks good but I do recommend getting a different power supply. That power supply you has ripple or voltage fluctuations that can damage your parts over time. So not a good PSU.

See if you can find the Corsair 620HX 620W PSU. 620W is more than enough to power your rig.

Oh where are you buying your parts from?
