I'm getting nothing but 23xx projects, and not a single one of them goes all the way through, always fails to finish. I'm considering switching over to UD for some time, because I'd actually like WU that go all the way to the end instead of crapping out on me after 10 minutes of folding. =\
 
prime stable? heatsink(s) clean? what error is it giving you when it craps out?

I too was having some problems with that series. I took my machines back to stock, double-checked cooling etc all to no avail.

For some reason the core file seems very sensitive to shut down and or things like disk defragging.

In the end I ended up deleting ALL cores and allowing them to download again. Problem stopped. Not one problem since.

All machines are back to full OC status and of course Prime stable, and with the fresh cores as I said, all problems stopped.

Give it a try.

I tried redownloading ALL cores, no change in this.

I set it to only download WU with no time limit, and to download in batches. The scary thing is, my Laptop is ONLY getting series 18xx WU, and it's been doing really well with it. =\ I just don't get it...

And yeah, I tried resetting the BIOS, starting with everything stock (or slower than stock as my ram is faster), but it just started to die again. Every other WU I've worked on has done fine, just 23xx has killed me. My production is WAY down, NOTHING in the past 2 weeks except from my Laptop.
 
That really sucks. I have gone through 3 or 4 so far with no problems, even with my overclock. They have given me a huge boost in output. I hope that someone can come up with a solution for you soon.
 
Dealing with multiple inhouse boxen , I had many early ends with the recent changes from Stanford.. for any boxen that I got an early end I pulled off the -advmethods flag & no problems since.....I'm still getting a mix of WU ... just fewer early ends

Do not get me started on degragging issues. I screwed up one time and ran a defrag on the disk with folding and lost the WU. I was not a happy camper as it was a 600 pointer that was at least 75% done. I have never made that mistake again. Then again, that probably has something to do with the fact that I never defrag anyway.

 
I've been getting a steady diet of these on my home rigs, and I think in the course of the last few weeks, I've had one or two go south on me, but the majority have finished to completion. One thing I did notice while browsing around those forums though was some talk of a possible pull on that series since there have been a higher percentage of failures than normal.

 
I guess I should post something worthwhile in the thread. I haven't checked the machines that are setup to grab these, but I don't think I've had one crap out on me yet. This would be on either an XP-m@2.5 Ghz or a P4 2.8 Preshott edition. The P4 is currently crunching away on one right now.

 
Those of you who have replied, can you please spesify if you're running Windows XP Pro 32 bit or XP Pro x64? I've been wondering if that has anything to do with it, since I went ahead and redownloaded the cores again, and still having early_unit_End problems, but JUST with these particular WU. =\
 
The only problem I've noticed on these buggers is that they take 4x longer on an AthlonXP of nearly identical clock speed to an Athlon64.

Yeah, no kidding. I haven't had my Socket A system running for some time now (no HDD for it). My Opteron sure does crunch fast, when units don't end too soon. :(
 
They've been running on all 32-bit boxen for me, XP Pro, Home and Win2k. If anything, I'd suggest reading over at the www.folding-community.org forums and maybe posting the snippet of your log that contains the early end. Those guys are great for diagnosing problems based on error codes and such.

Unfortunately, I don't get to see this as I have no A64 systems to mess with. I do know they don't run the greatest on XP's but at least they give better points than the small gromacs. Still not as good as what I can get of out Tinkers, though.

The reason they don't fold so well on XP's is because XP's don't have SSE2 which is the optimization these proteins are looking for. A64's are also a bit more efficient.

P2391 1 for 667
P2392 1 for 627
P2395 3 for 510
I'm on travel right now and have a P1600M IBM T40 which has been cranking on a P2390 since Feb 16th. And it has been shut down most days (I fold nights) since it's being used for real world work. It's now at frame 92 of 100.
They seem to work for me.

For now, it's better for us to run with the current settings, even though there are more EUE's. it's the nature of the beast in this WU in general.
