CPU Too hot?

Okay first off I'm using RightMark CPU Clock Utility to adjust my laptop CPU from the minimum.

I am running a Mobile AMD Athlon 64 4000+ (LanCaster SH-E5)
It's initial settings is
FID: 4.0x
VID: 0.950V

And it runs at 800mhz

When I scale it up it is at
FID: 13.0x
VID: 1.400V

And it runs at 2600mhz

Now the problem is it is also running at 75ºC to 80ºC and from what I understand 80º-90ºC is a danger zone for CPU health. Any ideas what's going on?

there are no lancaster 4000+'s. you have a newark

try to reduce that stock speed voltage as much as you can while remaining stable. that'll bring temps down.. though it's kinda typical for a laptop to get pretty damn hot. worse comes to worse, take the thing apart and replace the stock thermal paste with ceramique

Can you elaborate more on
try to reduce that stock speed voltage as much as you can while remaining stable.

I'm personally more of a software person... I just happened to know of [h]ard and figured it might be a good place to start

lower the VID .025v at a time while running prime95 blend, until it can't run prime anymore without getting an error. raise until you can run prime for 6-12 hours without mishap ;)

doesn't REALLY matter when you're going down. maybe like 5-10 min. then when increasing, let it run until it fails. if it does, bump it up again ;)
