CPU Temperatures

Hi,

I have just ordered an Intel 2500K (3.3 GHz) an wonder whether the new CPUs still have stuck temperature diodes like the last generation.
My current CPU is a Q9550 (2.8 Ghz) which has one core that does not decrease lower than 40°C.
I know that lower temperatures are inaccurate and unimportant anyway, but I still like to know.

I use Aida64. Do you monitor your temperatures as well?
The values for my current system (using a basic CPU cooler) are:

CPU: idle 35 to 40°C / load 65 to 72°C

I'm sure a monster CPU cooler would decrease the temperatures more.

would be surprised if you got a overclocked sandy down that far on air cooling. they seem to run pretty warm.

Hi, it's not overclocked though, it's stock speed.
The temps @ idle are based on

CPU clock: 2 GHz
CPU Multiplier: 6.0x
CPU FSB: 334 MHz

CPU Voltage: 1.048 V
CPU Fan: 2058 RPM

No, this one .. ►

Titan DC-775L925B/R ... with 2000 RPMs.

@ everyone who has either CPU of the new sandy bridges
Do your cores always give out the values for temperature or can stuck temps still be an issue?
Thanks

This has not been a problem for people since core 2.

Thanks, that's what I wanted to know.
But the thermal sensors of AMD & Intel are still not being calibrated, right?

I would not worry about idle temps at all. And load temps of 75C on a core2 processor or greater is not a problem. Most of these chips are designed to run at up to 100C.

I've ordered this one for the i5 2500 .. ► Xigmatek Gaia SD1283

True. Was thinking that cooler hardware has a longer life expectancy, lol
