Seeing as I've come upon some spare cash, and my computer has aged a bit, I'm thinking of doing an upgrade. I'm concentrating on upgrading my video card, cpu, and obviously the motherboard. Currently I'm running a Core 2 Duo 775 3.0 GHz on a Gigabyte EP45T-UD3P, with an EVGA gtx260 216. Currently, I am focusing on an i5-2500k, Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD3P-B3, and a EVGA GTX 560ti for the upgrade.

SLI and SATA 6gb/s for potential future upgrades (such as SSD for OS, etc)

Any input is appreciated (approval or critical). I've browsed the boards doing research, and am under the impression this would be an appropriate, and likely substantial, upgrade. If I have any uncertainty, it would be with the motherboard. That's not to say I question the GA-Z68X-UD3P-B3 I'm looking at, I like my current gigabyte board, and the z68x seems to have a good reputation. I just know less about Mobos than other components. Thanks for the help.
 
Is the G.Skill RAM that you have rated at 1.65V or below?

Also, since you live in California, I highly suggest that your pick up your parts from Amazon.com since they do not charge tax to CA residents like Newegg does.

Motherboard wise, once tax and shipping is calculated, that Gigabyte mobo comes out to about $195 shipped. At that price point, it's really not worth it considering that a sligthly better Asus mobo is about $14 more:
