The Batman said:What are you talking about? They ALL look the same to me. And how would the Ultra look bad when the GT wouldn't? They're the same thing.
R1ckCa1n said:Yeah.. look at the gun barrel and bottom of the can and see all the jaggies compared to the rest of the screenshots.

I can live somewhat without AF

My conclusion: It's not a very taxing game, and we'll have to wait for Half-Life 2.
Every card does well, except the 6800NU.
rancor said:Its the same engine, same shaders it really won't vary much from geometric intensity.
Brent_Justice said:looks like the 6800NU is playable to me, the only setting that seems to slow is 1600x1200 4xaa/8xaf, everything else looked playable going by those graphs and the avg fps
R1ckCa1n said:LOL.. it's not the same engine. It's the same as all the existing HL mods that will get converted to Source and not the real deal engine.

rancor said:And how do you know this? Who is makin this CS "mod"
CS: Source is the orignal CS mod ported to the Source engine. its using the same engine as HL2 aka Source. All the other big mods will follow suit soon, but CS: Source has been in developement for some time, its not using half HL and HL2 engine, its the full source engine.R1ckCa1n said:LOL.. it's not the same engine. R1ckCa1n said:Valve ported it right? They have said many times they are porting most mods to Source to standardize the core, but will only get some improvments, graphically, and will never have the feature set of HL2.
Nice try though, game developer.
Also, it doesn't change the fact the NVIDIA GeForce 6800 Ultra (NV40) - 4X AA & 8X AF screen shots look like crap.![]()
Anyone care to comment why no 4X AA & 16X AF tests where ran?

Did you bother to read... they only show the Ultra and no GT so where did that come from?

Visable-assassin said:yes because when your playing the game you will notice these jaggies right?
no...way to nitpick. but anyways unless im blind the 420's weapon bottom looks more jagged than the 6800
420
6800U
just look at the damn rail mounts under the barrel in front of the finger guard...the 420's is more jagged
No matter hwo you want to try and twist it man it is still the source engine end of story...the GAME was ported over to source so to put this into barney terms for you the games basics, type of play weapons etc are ported over useing the source engine...come on dude open your ears and listen.
Also whatever the hell your smoking man I want some because right off other than nitpicking the damn dovetails on the pistol the shots look the same...youd never know what you were playing on if you were not told...so your assumption that the 6800 looks like shit is your opinion and subjective like I said you wouldnt know the difference unless you were told. Why is it you are so damned biased man?
avatar_of_might said:both are going to be awesome,
i for one, was getting a little tired of HL graphics on CS, the CS:S beta graphics are awesome compared to the HL models. HL2, graphically is great as well, some would agrue not as great as doom3, personally i feel it can go either way, i have a tech video of the source engine from a while back that showed the source engine's true power and i felt it matched the d3 engine. anywho, as long as it runs above 40 fps, i have no problems cause i cant tell the diff.
