core I5 vs e6750 for gaming

Would there there be much of a difference between an e6750 at 3.6 ghz and one of the midrange core I5s when it comes to gaming? From what I've been reading no and it's better to spend money on a better video card.
 
Few titles of games are able to process multiple cores. So yes, a e6750 is better for gaming right now.
 
Core 2's are still relatively fast CPUs. What video card do you have now?
 
Not much of a difference to warrant upgrading IMO.
 
indeed. for gpu bound games, upgrade the vidcard. an e6750 at 3.6ghz is more than capable of feeding any vidcard out right now.
