just want to add that it will be plus tax in the store... about $5-6. i picked up a q9300 from them a few weeks ago and my total was $195 from a list price of $189.

nice price on this q6600 btw.
 
Wish there was a microcenter nearby. I guess I'll have to live with fry's and their lack of deals on quad cores in my price range at the moment.
 
I've been tempted to upgrade to this from my E6600, but there's no real performance gain from it...bleh. Good deal

Plus for me that requires a drive to Richardson, TX (from FT Worth). Hmm. $30 savings over the 'egg, but I still have to pay 8.25% sales tax + gas + 3 hours roundtrip to and from.
 
$160 + 10.25% sales tax kills it, esp since it's 1) barely cheaper than egg, and 2) I don't really need it.
That also doesn't count my gas driving 20 min there & back in a snowstorm.
 
Q6600 EOL has been extended from Q12009 to end of Q2 2009. You'll still probably see Q6600s in stores or etailers late into 2009 anyways.
