Hi,

Not the biggest hardware buff but I've been reading about current hardware for a few weeks now, and ordered a new computer a few days ago. I got some of the parts in the mail today, and to my horror I don't think the cooler I chose, or any adequate replacement is going to fit.

I wanted to build a C2D mATX system in Silverstone's TJ08. I thought I carefully chose my components and there'd be no compatiblity issues, but apparently I overlooked at least one.

Here's a list of what I ordered:
TJ08
Intel DG965OT
2GB PC4200 CL4
E6600
XFX 7950GT (passively cooled one)
74GB Raptor
Corsair HX520
2 Nexus 120mm fans
Akasa EVO-120

As you can see I'm not into overclocking, but I was looking for a very quiet, stable and fast system. I figured the Intel board would be a good choice, and the EVO-120 would fit comfortably. Judging by this picture it seemed like the ideal cooler for this case:

Now here's the problem! I don't have the EVO120 yet (I'll have it on monday) but my trusty tapemeasure revealed that this cooler is not going to fit on this motherboard. I'm almost positive there's a capacitor in the way, and even if it does manage to fit, I won't have any space for an exhaust fan! I considered getting a different cooler, but the DG965OT has a humongous northbridge cooler that makes it impossible to mount something like a Ninja or a Noctua.

So what I need your help with, is what kind of mATX C2D motherboard (945 or 965 chipset) is going to work 100% with a Ninja or a Noctua (the 120mm one). Any suggestions?

Motherboards I'm considering now are the Asus P5B-VM, Asus P5L-VM, and Asrock's Conroe945-DVI. If any of these are guaranteed to be compatible with the Ninja, I'm pulling the trigger on the order now so I can have my computer up and running within a few days, so I don't have to wait for the RMA procedure to complete.

Thanks for any advice!

I'd ask the same question over in the SFF section of the forum. They are much more knowledgeable about mATX boards over there than here (for some reason).

Thanks kirbyjr, I'll do that. Still, if anyone knows the answer to my question here... feel free to reply!
