Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
is this normal? I just got my E6320 system and whenever i check the cpu usage during idle, its around 40-50%. I had a x2 before and during idle, the cpu usage would be at only 4-6%. im using xp 64bit. thx in advance.
During idle... CPU usage should show no more than 2% at any time.
If you have a whole bunch of JUNK running in the background.. it will screw it up.
Also... did you wipe the drive when going from the X2 to the Intel chip? If not.. time to do it.
And.. a repair install is ONLY GOOD FOR RECOVERING FILES. From experience, I have noticed that 90+% of the time, a repair install totally jacks up the system.
OP I forgot to mention, first place to look is to run msconfig and see what is in startup, then look for stuff in the system tray. Kill all the parasites.
My favorite app for finding junk running in the background is called AutoRuns. It searches in more places than you can imagine. Use with due care but it will help you find anything causing trouble.
It was so damn good that Microsoft bought out the original company, as usual.
