i use the mx1000 for my desktop and was wondering if logitech is ever going to make a corded version of the mx1000 because i really like the look and feel of this mouse over the mx500 and mx700 designs. only reason why im asking is because im going to be buying a gaming laptop in a few months and id like to use a wired mouse with the laptop instead of wireless.

They are making a corded version i *think* i just forget the name.

BTW a laptop is the only reason i'd allow anyone to use a corded version btw.

From what I hear, MX518 is the corded version of the MX1000.

the 518 is going to use the laser? I didn't know that..

Corded mice are far superior to wireless mice. Thats all I have to say about that. ;) Puts on the flame resistant suit.

The MX518 is going to be sweet. Its accually already out at some places. Thats what I would suggest getting.

I did a bit of research, and it seems you are right. My bad then, just going by what I heard a few weeks ago. Carry on.

i dont like the shape nor feel of the MX5xx series nor the MX700. however, i do love the look, feel, and shape of the MX1000. if logitech were to make a corded version then i would buy it for a laptop because i dont want to mess with the receiver.

oooo.....I'd buy one in a heart beat. I LOVE the feel of the MX1000 but can't stand the feel of the MX510. I haven't used the mx1000 but i notice the lag on my friend's MX700 and it would be unacceptable for me in CS. the mx518 better not be the wired "brother" to the mx1000. If it is, I guess my intellimouse 4.0 will last

not necessarily, Sir. I know what you mean, hell thats what I thought at first, but when a relative got a wireless mouse (not even close to quality to the MX1000), I just had to get one. Compared to my old MX500 there's no difference in gaming, there's really no noticable lag (to me anyways). Sure, maybe if you're a hard core gamer a wired mouse might make a difference, but to the casual gamer like me I think its a perfect mouse.

SOme people complain about the weight, but seriously if you're wussy enough to think a freeken mouse is heavy, stop and back away from your computer and get some excercise, :p . After using my mx1000 for 4 months, when I get board and try out my old '500, its too damn small and light, no to mention the buttons are in shitty place. They really should have made the MX518 the shape of the MX1000, its perfect

I havn't tried the MX1000 ( heard good things ) but I did buy an MX700 and for serious gaming it won't cut it at all. The lag when you pick it up and unresponsiveness if you whip the mouse is just a bit too slow, especially when matched up with an MX500. I like the feel of wireless mice, but MX1000 seems huge

Why did Logitech decide to make the MX518 the same shape as MX5xx/700/900 is beyond me. The MX1000 has MUCH better ergonomics. I sold my MX500 because my hand used to hurt after a longer periods of use but now with MX1000, everything is fine. Logitech should make all their new mice similar shape and abandon the old design IMO.
