Hello

As soon as i saw it on maximum pc, i fall in love with the unique desgin. Does anyone have any experience with that case?

Can you post some of your picture?

Is there any down side?

Is it worth the money?

Thanks

Allan

I have one. Little steep on the $ end of things, luckilly I got mine on sale to make it much easyer to swallow. As for being worth it......I think that is more of subjetive question that will varry from person to person. As for me I love it, but I got it on sale. Down side.....Not many fan controllers will fit behind the door due to its shape. Good luck.

I used my WaveMaster case for all of 2 weeks, before going out and getting an Antec Sonata. The WaveMaster has possibly the worst airflow for a high end case, plus if you upgrade and swap out parts of your computer a lot, do NOT get this case. It requires screws for EVERYTHING, including taking both side panels off just to take the screws out of the 5.25" drives. And on top of that, once you have a motherboard installed, it's almost impossible to pry out your hard drives from that ill-conceived hard drive cage. But if you like things to be tougher than they have to be, you'll love this case. :)

i havent heard too many good things about the case, i dont even like the way it looks.

but hey, if u like it then u should get it

I have one and I love it!!! Just be prepared for its size, it is cramped on the inside. Very poor aiflow, so if you are going to overclock with air cooling, look somewhere else. Other than that, its beautiful. They even sell factory window panels for it, im thinking about getting one... The quality is out standing, and the case is incredibly tough. My dad could stand on top of it and hes a good 250 pounds... I like it, but its a personal decision. I dont like the industrial look of the other coolermasters and lan-lis, so the wavemaster is great for me...

do you think I can fit a water cooling kit like Innovatek or Swiftech one?

I have 6 hard dirves

Can anyone post some pic?

you could fit six hard drives but youd be taking up all the 3.5 areas.

air flow sucks, eventually i might cut out the vent holds and replace with modders mesh of honeycomb pattern maybe. probably not since id be alot of work and since ill be using an external wc kit, it wont need it.

removable mb tray makes it easy to upgrade or swap out parts.

last case was an acrylic case, this wavemaster is so much nicer to have.

thumbscrews are a theme in this case which makes removing side panels, mb tray very easy.

ill try and find this link where some guy was showing off his coolermaster.

edit: heres the thread...

thanx thanx

i own a acrylic case too...

it's the pain in the ass changing hardware like installing hdd, dvd burner...

I am planning to put 5 hdd on the bottom area when i get it... do you think there is space for Ehmie 1260 pump? or any sotta pump?

I can't move any closer to PCI area because I have scsi raid and pci promise raid and sound card there..

id be pretty tight. i dont know for sure if one could fit with long pci cards. if you havent already bought your wc gear maybe think about an external unit.

im thinking you want a bigger case then? like full size, with good airflow and silver?

this is one of the best...
Lian Li PC-70

check out Dr.2K's pc-70 three post down at this thread...

one of the best overall computers ive ever seen.

another nice case thatd probably be too cramped for your setup...
Lian Li PC-6070

Ive got 2 of these cases...bad airflow in stock form...Ive replaced the rear fan with antoher higher CFM/lower DB fan, its back to normal for me.

I also replaced my 9800Pro with another card thats got the airflow venting out the back, lowered the temp a bit as well.

-sturdy
-different look

I like it though

one thing i notice right away is the rad setup. the wavemaster has only one 80mm exhaust fan mount, so youd have to cut the case for that setup to work.

also the wavemaster is as big as that case just one 5.25 drive above that horizontal bar in the first picture, so it probably would fit, just cramped.

i wouldnt pay much attention to that thread. first time i hear anyone having THAT much trouble with coolermaster cases. like one guy said in there... its an isolated occurrence. in the unlikely event that would happen to you, im sure you'd be able to get an exchange from the sellers or the manufacurer.
Well considering that the guy wants peoples opinions on the case I would think that he'd want to see want people ACTUALLY thought about the case. Personally, I think its pretty tacky and over priced, I really don't like it. I do like the other Coolermaster cases though like this. But I do perfer the look of the Lian-Li cases over Coolermaster.

yeah i find it a little over price too..

thanx everyone for helping out...

i guess i just have to read more reviews on the case and kit before getting anything.

I own a silver Lian-Li PC60 like a really really over version back in the P3 days...

I don't really like it that much!

actual thoughts? sure, im sure you've notice i own the case in question aswell. about that wavemaster problem thread i didnt say he shouldnt pay attention to it, i said he shouldnt pay much attention to it as problems like Icewindius had rarely happens from what ive read and experienced with cooler master cases.

you cant be serious about the wavemaster as being "tacky"?

i do agree with you about the Cooler Master Praetorian case as its one of the best overall.

this is true, i was thinking the exact same setup as the picture. good thinking about the top exhaust.

I just remember I think I have a review or two around (Looks in bookmarks....) Oh no it looks like I deleted it. But the wavemaster does have a blow hole, it's the USB thingie up top- you can remove it (I think they give you a mounting kit) and place an 80mm in there. I would suggest taking a look at the wavemaster in person I know CompUSA has a few on display I thought the case was pretty cool until I saw it in person and yes I do think it looks tacky (IMHO).
I do kind of like this case, but it seriously needs a paint job: http://www.modthebox.com/review259_1.shtml
I didn't like the Lian-Li PC60 much either, it felt restrictive. I do like the Antec Sonata but I hear that it collects finger prints like a mofo. This case looks pretty cool to me though: http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProdu...1-163-001&catalog=7&manufactory=BROWSE&depa=1

Just want to make this clear:

The picture is not of my case, it is of Sanido's at Overclockers Forums. Beautiful isnt it? I just hope mine will one day look like that :D

I found the thread a bit funny since I worked on Wave Master and other cooler master cases all the time and never experienced such issue.

Regarding the mother tray, you could GENTLY pull it out of the case. Since this case is built to tide tolerance, there isn't much free room for motherboard tray to move around. If you use force, it's likely to twist the tray and cause it to rub against the rail.

IMO, wave master is one of the strongest, stiffest aluminum case around. The material used were the thickest. The case does not rattle, twist, bend like other cheaper ones.

I've been looking into getting a Wave Master for my next rig. Some of your input has been helpful. I really like the case despite some of the comments regarding poor airflow with it. I can fix the airflow problem...if I feel it's even a concern.

Anyway, there's a site selling it with the window already built in. On Cooler Master's site, they show it, but they won't ship the case with it. This site does. A bit exspensive but...hey. I came across some other sites that will sell the side panel with either the blue window or clear window....anywhere from $45 to $66 bucks.

Another thing, the green window you see isn't actually all that green it has a much lighter tint (almost like brand new glass). I even called CircoTech about it because I felt the window was too green for my taste. They said it was just the angle of the picture. Here's what it really looks like.

I'm also gonna grab this fan controller. When you close the door on the Wave Master, these buttons won't be of a concern. They won't hit.

I hate how they attach windows but atleast you can take it off and correct it. Personally I would do it myself but with a $150 case I can see why people can be scared about doing that. Try to find out if a local shop has one on display, I know CompUSA had a few up with the windows installed, that way you can see if the case is right for you. Oh yeah the green window looks pretty good, very impressive, not something that comes across well with pictures.
