Cooler suggestions water/air

The H55 will perform worse than most other air coolers in its price range. The NH-D14 will probably outperform it, and quite a few other high end air coolers will likely outperform it as well. The main deciding factors will be:

1. Space. Is your case tall enough to fit 120mm tower air coolers?
2. Convenience. Are you planning on using RAM with tall heatsinks, and/or swapping out RAM? Do you want easy installation or somewhat more difficult installation (large air coolers can be rather bulky and hard to manipulate).

Where are you located?
NH-14 is about $75 US. The Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO is considered a price/performance winner, About $35 before sales and rebates.
Not knowledgeable about Arctic Freezer except some do well, some do not. The "30" comes out of memory as good?

Thermalright True is also good performer.

I will be running Gskill RipjawX 2x4gb and an i5 4690k. I don't care for the huge coolers and would like it to be as quiet as possible because I'll have 2 pcs in the same room. The Noctua's are a little pricey for me. I was looking at the AC freezer i11 and 13 because their website claims they run cooler and quieter than the comparable Noctua NH-U9B SE2.

The coolermaster 212's are awesome. I have a 212+ on my 2500k keeping it well under 70C on a 4.7ghz OC. I just ordered a 212 EVO for my W3680 that I plan to overclock extensively as well. You can't beat em for the price, in a push/pull setup they are the best cooler you can get without breaking the bank.

212 are okay. There are others as good or better at similar pricing, but prices vary depending on where you live. I can get Deepcool Lucifer or Alpenfohn Matterhorn Pure for under 30 here. Both are much better than 212.

Availability is really how the 212 is always the choice I go with. You can always get one, it's cheap as hell, and provides 'good' performance at a reasonable noise level.

Honestly the only complaint I've EVER had about it is the mounting mechanism. But you only have to deal with that once.
