Hi. Recently i built a new PC for a friend and used the Cooler Master K280 case. I liked it so much, that now i want to buy one for myself too! Seems nowdays all cases have top fans too, which i really don't like! The K280 only has side fan and has very big space on the rear of the backplate for cable management. Much more than my Enermax Luxuray, where the cables are like pressed hard against the side panel.

I have one doubt though. Since this friend of mine uses the PC little and has the case on desk, while mine will be on the floor, how much of a problem is the mesh that Cooler Master uses in the front side? I mean, dust-wise? Is it easy to get clogged by dust?

Thanks.

The problem isnt with the mesh, its that you shouldnt put a PC near the floor.
The amount of dust/dirt is magnitudes greater than raising it a few feet.
No matter what grill method you use, it will either let in tons of dust or become clogged.
If it isnt getting clogged, then all your components inside are.
Your choice.

My PC is on a table over 2ft high.
I stretched stockings over my cases front fan grills and clean them about once a month by running a vacuum hose over them.
Before fitting this I would have to clean inside my PC about every 3 or 4 months, now I do it once a year and its nowhere near as bad.

Thanks, i know it's better to keep the case away from the floor, but it's not always possible...

But i do clean all my PCs once a month with canned air and use positive pressure in all and alluminum mesh fan filters and at the end, inside the case, components remain quiet clean.

My worry is exactly that the entire front in this case is mesh and i don't know how much dust will try to pass from there instead of the regular fans...

Well, i ordered the case, and given the situation, also this:

Won't do miracles, but i guess, it will somewhat mitigate the "electric hoover" effect...
