hi to start off im not sure where the support section so i hope im in the right place. recently i have been getting bsods and i cant figure out what the problem is. i have tried new hardware reinstalling the OS changing OSs and still have not been able to remedy the problem. the stop codes i get are 1e, 1f, 124 and a couple of others but these are the main ones. usually i will bsod when im playing the steam version of bad company 2 or team fortress 2 but it also occurs when im just sitting on my desktop. it appears to happen more often when the computer is being stressed.

specs

q6600 - doesnt matter if i OC or not
gigabyte p45t-es3g - brand new
8 gb gskill rip jaws 1333 - brand new
6850 - brand new
corsair 620HX
Win 7 64

i have exhausted my knowledge and a few of my friends' as well. if anyone could give some advice i would be eternally grategul

i tried your suggestion and it seemed to play a little bit longer (i lasted 10 minutes instead of 3) but did eventually hang although it didnt go to a blue screen and it didnt prompt me when i restarted saying i had one

im going to continue playing to see if it will blue screen

i found a "fix" for bad company 2 that had you go through your control panel and set your sound quality to the lowest settings. after doing this and playing with 1 stick in bc2 crashes to desktop shortly after joining a game and playing. i crashed about 10 times but i never blue screened. why would it blue screen with both sticks in and not when theres only 1? what problem would this indicate?

I take it that you're using brand new memory, video card, and motherboard with used CPU, PSU, and 1333 RAM? Is that the correct RAM?

Yep, that seems to be the correct RAM. I don't know enough to help you, but there are people here who will. First, its a good idea to check out the trouble shooting section in the sticky threads.

thanks gkg101, i'll check those out.

While playing modern warfare 2 which i thought was my most stable game i got another bsod this time a new one 3b system_service_exception. im going to do some research on that as well

last update for today. i found a dump file viewer and checked out my mini dumps and heres what i came up with
124 driver ntoskrnl.exe
1e driver ntoskrnl.exe kmode_execption_not_handled
124 driver hal.dll
3b driver ntoskrnl.exe system_service_exception
1000007e driver dxgkrnl.sys system_thread_exception_not_handled

i tried to run windows memory diagnostic tool last night but it had errors and froze around 18% during the first test. im guessin this means my memory is bad?

also sometimes while trying to run prime 95 i get a hardware error but im pretty sure this is related to my o/c cuz i dont have the issue when im not
