Console Dilemma..

So this is it. I have a launch xbox 360. When the slim came out I wanted to jump on it right away but reasons rendered me un capable of perchasing it. Now that I have money to purchase something I am drawn between a PS3 slim and an Xbox360 S. Mind you I still have a perfectly good working Launch Box with a 60gb hdd. I am weighing pro's and cons but I just don't know all that much about PS3's. I do want a blue ray player. Anyways What do you guys think?
 
hmm well if you decide to go with the ps3, you'll, get to play online via psn at no charge, blu-ray player and you get to play the ps3 exlcusives. At least you'd have the best of both worlds. The hdd on the 360, you can just upgrade that later down the line.
 
I will still be paying for xbox live either way.. So the PS3 would be used for Blue Ray and PS3 Exclusives..
 
If your three-year-warranty for the 360 is still good and the 60GB HHD is big enough, go for the PS3.

This is exactly the reason I got the PS3. Also I seen on some review sites that it's rated one of the top Blue Ray players for the price range. Though I don't care for psn, I prefer to play games on xbox live and play exclusives on PS3.
 
I just had this debate with friends of mine. I am a Huge Console gamer but to be honest I hate the 360. In my experience with it its underpowered & even tho they fixed the RROD i still isnt worth 300 bucks.

The PS3 in my opinion is Great, bluray, Very powerful, Exclusives & the free online is actually really good.
 
Psn blows, downloads take forever, updates take a long ass time. Sure it has a blu Ray player but you can buy one for $99 now or get a br drive for your pc. If you think uncharted, gow and lbp is worth spending $300 on a ps3 then go for it
 
Blue Ray players in the $100 range I hear are terrible! For the sheer fact that load times are horrendous. Leaning more towards the PS3 now.. If the xbox blows RROD or similar I can fix it, if it not idk but the only games being played on it are RDR and SWTFU. Cought in a loop and can't get out.

The pro for the PS3 is that it has much better and unique exclusive titles. With Microsoft getting back into PC gaming, expect to see more 360 exclusives wind up on PC. PS3 + PC = everything I want.

This. I got rather bored with my XBox 360 quickly because of the lack of good exclusives. Everything else I want to really play I can find on the PC. Halo and Gears of War simply aren't enough.

Going to be buying mine as soon as I can afford one with a decent 720p/1080p television.
 
The PS3 has some good, solid exclusives. It's also the best Blu Ray player on the market (IMO). You can't really go wrong. You'd be adding a whole lot of utility to your home entertainment setup vs. spending money on a mostly cosmetic upgrade with the 360 S.

(I thought about upgrading to a 360 S as well, but I realized that my Halo Edition is perfectly fine, and I'd rather put that money toward a surround sound setup)

the xbox is not underpowered compared to the PS3, lacking in some features, yes but definately not under powered matter of fact the gfx engine on the 360 is better and the scaler actually works with ALL titles..

After having both i really loved the ps3 over 360... the only reason i had a 360 is because since halo 1 & 2 i used to have big lan parties with friends bringing over their tv's and game consoles and we all decided to get into doing it for halo 3. There was no other positive reason for buying a 360...
 
how long have we been waiting for that one to come out? lol

XBL Arcade > PS3 arcade...... as for games meh both have their ups and downs

wait, what? you have a perfectly working 360, you want a blu ray player, and you are torn between buying a 2nd 360 or a ps3?

get another 360, you don't deserve a ps3.

Will do :D... The dilemma was that I have a tough time choosing since my 360 is a launch box and I don't know when its going to go. But thanks guys my decision is clear to me now. I will enjoy my PS3 :D
 
Thread hijack, I'm having the same dilemma except I have a 20gb hdd on my 360. Oh and its my birthday and there's a 360 S sitting wrapped on the kitchen table.... Should I return it for a ps3?

My freind has never had an issue with the downloads taking "forever". They don't cap off on my FiOS Internet either, so it might just be your internet.
 
^lol total capacaty != formatted capacity != space available for you to save games. Some of the drive space is used during formating and some is system reserved.

buy a used hard drive on ebay, lots of hard drives cheap from dead consoles, I got a 60gb for like $30. Get a ps3 to go with it.
 
or you can get the 60GB starter pack like I did. I got one when newegg ran them on sale for $70 over a year ago came with hdd, transfer cable, headset, and 3 month live sub. Now they are $90 not such a hot deal
