I'm planning a new build, and the missing link is the psu. Modular is a must, and of course reliability.

Projected Specs:
antec 900 black 2
Ph 2 X3 720 - will overclock
am3 board
4 gigs ddr3 1333
1, maybe 2 hard drives at most
1 dvd burner with a possibility of a blue ray player down the line
radeon 4890 - will certainly overclock and likely upgrade to the next gen dx11 cards

I don't think crossfire is in my future, as I will only run a 24" monitor.

They re-reviewed the 750W and it seemed like a decent psu at 40C (although marginal) - the 650W is at a solid price point, is modular and lights up (bling bling).

Has anyone had any experience with this unit?

HardOCP never re-reviewed the Xigmatek 750W PSU at 40C. Are you talking about the OCZ PSU?

Anyway, no experience with that particular PSU but the testing of the Xigmatek 850W and 750W PSUs shows that Xigmatek's CWT based PSUs aren't that good. Well not bad but nothing spectacular.

There are much better PSU's for in that price range (newegg lists that one for 110$) Any of these will power your current rig and lots more with EXCELLENT reliability.

Corsair 650 99$ (20$ rebate) - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139005

PC Power 750W 120$ (20$ rebate)- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817703009

PC Power 610W 105$ (25$ rebate) - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817703005

These aren't modular, if you HAVE TO HAVE modular I would look at the Corsair 620, that PSU is amazing. Also silverstone and mushkin have some great modular PSU's as well.

+1 for Corsair HX620. One of the well-known and trusted modular PSUs.
