Considering Going back to INTEL just 1 question?

I doubt that.

It's only recently that Intel caught on that temperatures are getting too high on their desktop parts (cancelling the 4GHz Prescott and cancelling Tejas) And we can see that their 65nm Netburst parts will help them get a little bit higher, clockspeedwise, but the performance is still not there. They thought they could get away with selling the same product for 3 years and it turned out they were wrong.

I don't know what you consider recent but I would guess that Intel was aware of the temps of their product long before anyone in the enthusiast community (that didn't have a direct link to certain Intel employees) was

and I don't know what you mean by "selling the same product for 3 years" since it sounds like you are aware of the different cores

The P4 has gained little performance wise in the past 3 years. The best thing that ever happened to it was the Smithfield.

the p4c was a HUGE performance boost, maybe that was more than 3 years ago o_O dont remember

After the Northwood 800MHz FSB, not much has changed performance wise. The only thing prescott was good for was making Intel more money due to higher yields and allowing for EM64T.

My new A8N SLI could have used a BIOS flash prior to me getting it. Left it to do an unattended install and 3 hours later it was still at the Final Setup Screen. Yes, it reminded me of why I keep going back. It is a flat out joke that it tries to keep from installing my X800XL LOL!

Not surprising, that's a terrible board. Insanely high failure rate.

I finally switched out the two 512MB sticks of PQI PC-4000 for two sticks of Kingmax 256MB PC-3500, flashed the BIOS and it then setup and everything else. All would be fine except it still wants to run my PC-4000 at PC-2700 speeds. I'm not overclocking right now.
