Conroe on i945pl

Hi, guys.
I have Asus P5PL2 with intel 945pl chipset. My board verzion is 1.00, and starting from ver. 2.00G this same board support Conroe limited to 800MHz FSB. Will my board work fine if I put Conroe (E6x00 or E4x00)?
 
No. You said it yourself: "...starting with version 2..."

And even v2 will only take an e4x00, not an e6x00.
 
No, again. On the official site of Asus it's say that support but limited to 800MHZ FSB. It's actually support even Core 2 Extreme QX6700 quad-core.
 
They probably changed the power regulation from version 1 to version 2. I don't think it will work.
