Confused on titles

I know the classifications for titles and stuff, such as n00bie or wtv, but why do some members have only 4k posts, and have custom titles?

Titles before you reach the designated number of posts are received for three reasons:

-Doing something very cool
-Doing something very stupid
-Kyle feels like it

Sometimes it's a fine line between the two top ones; I wouldn't push it.

Hello, uhm, what could I possibly do to get a custom title without having to post 16384 postings ?
I'm willing to pay, let's say $5.- for that privilege .... how does that sound ?
Or should I create a very smart thread ? But about what ?
Hmm, my next promotion will be after 17 more postings, from Limp Gawd to Gawd, but I don't wanna be a Gawd.
I would like the title Supreme Commander or Supa Nooba.
If nothing else works out, I will have to wait approx until the year 2028, meeh ...

you don't ask for poofs, they just happen, and when they DO happen, you don't have a choice in what it gets to say.

Also, asking for a poof is a good way to never get a poof
