I just need two identical monitors to what I have now (ASUS VH232H) and a second video card (470 GTX) or two new video cards to handle all three monitors since they do not make 470s anymore.

Price of the two monitors (ASUS VH232H) price will take away from the budget.

What I'd also like is a stand that will hold all three monitors.

The only reason why the budget is so high is because I am expecting to have to get two new video cards, since I waited too long before getting a second 470.

If you've got $1000 for this, I would personally get two 6970's and two of your monitors.

It shouldn't be hard to get under $1000 for that, newegg has them all priced at $999.96 + shipping, excluding $70 in rebates.

Problem with going with an ATi setup instead of Nvidia that Adobe Photoshop/Premier make use of Nvidia CUDA technology.

The monitor you have now is still available for sale from Newegg for $179.

I really didn't want to go the used route, but if that's a viable option then I suppose I will venture down that road and see what I can come up with.

I was thinking of just getting two 570s and two more monitors for $1017.59. Think it's worth spending that kind of money for the setup? How much are used 470s going for these days? ~$150 - $200?

So I could have a SLI 470 setup with triple monitors for roughly $560? (Assuming priced used at $200 for a 470)

Which then means, will it be worth the ~$450 to get two 570s instead?

You could pick one up on Amazon used- they have to accept returns to sell on Amazon, so at least you are guaranteed non-doa. Here is the cheapest one I found (190)-

In the used section, there is one return open box for $160 shipped, and one with bezel scratches for $124 shipped. This puts you at 196+124+160= $480 shipped for your upgrade
