1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc
Web browsing, paper typing, school related work
2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
No more than $500
3) Where do you live?
South Mississippi (Newegg is where I intend to order everything)
4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. The word "Everything" is not a valid answer. Please list out all the parts you'll need.
case, psu, cpu, motherboard, ram, dvd drive, possibly video card and hard drive
5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Please be especially specific about the power supply. List make and model.
Will be using the keyboard, mouse and monitor (old 17" 3:4 model thats like 1280x768 or something) possibly an ATI Radeon x300se and WD 250GB hard drive
6) Will you be overclocking?
No
7) What size monitor do you have and/or plan to have?
I think it's a 17" 1280x768 monitor, but I'm not 100% sure. It's nothing that the ATI Radeon x300se that was on the old system couldn't handle.
8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?
This week or next
9) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? USB 3.0? SATA 6Gb/s? etc.
Do not need any features on the motherboard, but I would like some USB ports on the front of the case for peripherals (usb phone charger, ipod, etc...)
10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? If so, what OS? Is it 32bit or 64bit?
No I do not.
My friend Mom's computer went out on her, so I'm gonna build a replacement for them. I estimated that it shouldn't cost more than $500, so anything less would be great. I don't suspect it should cost too much, she doesn't really do much with the computer.
