My computer starts to slow down and goes real slow, after about 30 minutes. It's an on-going problem.

Is this the result of the power supply and fan not working so well?

The computer is clean, no dust.. but I believe my power supply/fan is giving out.

Is this usually the problem when that happens?

Nope, not a sign of a PSU issue at all. if the PSU was the problem, you would have stability and reliability problems, not performance problems.

Look elsewhere for your issue. Try a reformat and reinstall.

Hey thanks for the reply.

I've reformatted and everything. Issue still exists.

Test the HDD, make sure you have the latest drivers, make sure that it isn't one of your background apps taking up the performance, etc.

Thanks,

I'll check it all. Is there a test I can run on my HDD to make sure it isn't that malfunctioning?

[Testing the Hard Drive]
Download the CD image of Hitachi Drive Fitness Test, burn the ISO file to a CD, and then boot from it, just like you would do with the XP/Vista install CD. Test the hard drive and see if any problems are found. DFT will run on most manufacturers' hard drives. Alternatively, you can use Seagate's SeaTools for DOS to test a Seagate or Maxtor drive. For a Western Digital drive, you could use Data Lifeguard Tools for DOS to test a Western Digital drive.

[Testing the CPU]
Use Prime 95, OCCT, Orthos or Intel Burn Tool to stress test the CPU.

Hey, I did some research right after I posted and came across one from Seagate (the one you just mentioned)

Ran the test, first test being the SMART test. It Failed.

WD - http://support.wdc.com/techinfo/general/errorcodes.asp

Said to replace the Drive if that happens. Could this be the reason it's slowing down after a certain amount of time?

Thanks

Cool.. Thanks for the help.. Im guessing this is the reason, it's the only problem im having with my PC.

The drive runs about $65 bucks. Gotta do what I gotta do.

Appreciate the help
