Computer powers on just after shutdown

Wonder if anyone can help?

I've got a bit of an odd problem with my newly built PC.

Most of the time (but not every time) I shut it down it only powers off for a split second and then restarts. It's important to note this is different than restarting the machine as the power does actually switch off completely for about half a second before everything starts back up.

I don't think the case switch is faulty and the motherboard header connection to the switch seems fine.

I have all "Wake on..." options in the BIOS disabled except for PNE event wake up (because I do want wake on LAN to work).

Any ideas?

First guess...

Look under Power Management Setup for a bios option named AC Back Function and make sure it is set to Soft-Off
 
Mine was doing the exact same thing. I swapped to a brand new PSU and it did not fix the problem. I'm pretty sure it ended up being something with my motherboard, but I have no chagned anything. I moved my PC to another case and it went away (I was moving my parts due to a fitment issue, I put a new cooler on my Video card).

I think it was something with my motherboard, maybe shorted out somewhere or something.

I wish I had any idea why it happened/went away, but I really don't.
 
Thanks for the comments. AC back was set to memory so I have set it to soft-off. Will have to see how that goes for a while. I'll post up with any results.
 
That should fix it, then. Its a fairly common setting misconfiguration in bios settings which is how I knew what is was immediately. Its a holdover from server machines where if the power is lost you want the machine to reboot/power back up for machines that are supposed to be on 24x7. Unfortunatley 'Power lost" also includes actually tying to power down the machine from the front panel switch. Bit odd but there it is.
